Loving your space and flooring. We recently bought a white unit 2400 long. I had planned to have a cabinet built in at a later stage taking up the whole wall but have now decided that I like the option of having space at the ends for decorative pieces eg: the plant and accent chair. Also there is plenty of storage with the existing unit. I went for white to blend in with the walls to make the floor is more of a feature and I could then add colour accents in the room without it all being too much.

As a rough guide Caroline we try and use fittings that mirror the basic shape and profile of the room, for example, you have a room with a tall profile, so we would try and use a fitting that also has a tall profile or shape. As Cherel has suggested, using multiple fittings is a good idea because as a whole they create that tall profile and fill in the space. You'll also have a larger range of fittings to choose from. The only issue you might have with this is getting them all centred over the table, which is important (is there any possibility of moving the outlet) A single pendant like the one in your image might work and would be a simpler solution for the off-centre cable outlet however, it would need to be large (at least 600mm diameter).....anything less would be dwarfed.

Hi thinkoutsidethebox, As a bathroom vanity retailer we can confirm that the trend is a preference for wall mounted vanities by far when compared to floor mounted vanities. Wall mounted vanities appear more modern, make the room feel more spacious, show off your tiles, and give the opportunity for open showers as water damage is reduced due to the cabinet being up off the floor. Due to the reduced storage, we also recommended face level storage such as a mirror cabinet which is more comfortable to use everyday with reduced bending to access drawers or cupboards below. You may also want to choose a vanity with the basins over the top of the bench top as recessed basins (basins that are under the bench top) will further compromise the storage of the cabinet. You may also have to consider the current plumbing outlet of your vanity in the space you are renovating as you may need to move plumbing inside the wall if the current outlet goes to the floor within (hidden inside) the cabinet. In some cases such as if your floor is a concrete slab, you may need an engineer to confirm if you can “chase” the slab be able to relocate the plumbing. All the additional work and cost to reconfigure the plumbing should also be considered when deciding to have a wall mounted or floor mounted vanity. Apart from the colourings , and the era , being similar , they don't really match . To do it PROPERLY , you'd have to -- Trim the wider unit back Add a backstop to the taller unit Lower the taller unit ( there goes most of your wine rack ) Match ( exactly ) all the handles AND the angles Even then , you'd almost have to bolt the 2 together , and with 2 wall thicknesses in the middle , anyone looking for more than 3 seconds will realise . I'd actually be tempted to swap the 2 units over , and have a 'step down' look -- the drop down door on the very right . And keep them seperate .
