L-shaped lounge room/dining room - help please!
Comments (5)You could flip the living 90 degrees to the left, making the tv along that longest wall but aligned more left obviously. Depending on how much you wanted to spend, you could invest in joinery which incorporates the tv and books, which then also adds massive amounts of storage. Could be too long of a space for this set up, but stretched out a little with a nice rug it could work well :) please show us pics when you decide!...See MorePlease help with lounge room design...
Comments (23)Also love the buffet....it could be the "hero" of the room. It is beautiful and they are so hard to come by at a reasonable price. I have a much cheaper style mid century buffet and initially had the TV on top of it, but now the TV is wall mounted above it. The distance between the wall and the couch wall is about 4m and we have no issues with the TV being too high...you definitely need to factor that in if you wall mount it though...luckily I had a handyman friend helping me, otherwise I would have put the TV too high. With the TV being mounted, it actually makes the buffet more of a feature and anything that is put on the buffet is now "displayed" instead of being part of clutter with the TV. It looks great and I know yours will too if you wall mount the TV. That is the great thing about the mid century buffets...they seem to fit in just as well as modern furniture as they do with the classic furniture....and because your is "classic", it will never date...a great investment....See MoreUnused space- Help in renovating lounge/living room?

Comments (6)Hi Kelly You have lovely colours and finishes in your home, makes for a great starting point. If your dining table fits in the lounge room with plenty of room then it might be an option. You could consider then making the front room a nice sitting area. If you are thinking of updating your main sofa to a corner type then maybe go for single chairs in the front room which you can anchor with a rug and round coffee table. See images below. Then to create a more formal entry way, separate the area with a bench seat that can (so it would sit opposite your built in at front door) then lay a hall runner between the two. A plant next to the bench would help screen between also. You could then replace the photograph with a mirror (possibly round to contrast with cabinets) and add catch all bowl for keys, sunnies, etc... Hope this helps and we'd love to see what you decide to do....See MoreWild Bear & Co Hervey Bay
