Entrance, staircase and hallway - which walls to decorate?
Comments (3)@Lighting55.com - thank you. When installing wallpaper, do you recommend going all the way to the top, or just the ground floor? Because some walls continue upstairs (i.e. are very very tall). Also, we don't really have a lot of walls in the entrance, would wallpaper look odd? http://st.houzz.com/fimgs/0e8232e602b540bf_0307-w600-h376-b1-p0--home-design.jpg...See MoreLARGE entry door handle - Round or square??
Comments (14)Well...not exactly like that one, but close. Mine has a lever handle built into the larger handle, so after unlocking it we operate the lever to open the door. The one you show looks like it unlocks, then you simply push the door open. Is that right? Comments (9)There are few tricks that I recommend to my clients to dress up a long walkway without breaking the bank. 1. Transform it into an art/photo gallery. The more you put on the better! You can use your own photos or affordable reproductions and use kmart/Ikea frames. Pick a theme (beach, cities, family, black&white) and use frames of diffrent sizes but same style and colour. 2. Add some drama using dark pain. This will add elegance and character to the space with a wow factor. 3. Create effects using paint. Half painted walls and "artistic walls " are very easy to do, don't cost much and bring immediate effect I hope this helps! Nathalie...See MoreEntry table decor
Comments (5)Not necessarily too small. Is it attached to the hall stand? If not, mount it on the wall at standing height level, ie top of your head will be about one quarter / one third from the top of the frame. Add a tall glass vase or vase with architectural ornamentation on one side. Place the decorative items you have on the other side and presto! Alternatively offset the mirror and place the vase (or other tall thin ceramic or similar) and other items together on the other side. Just make sure the vase has something about it to tie it to the items already there. As the hall stand and mirror share a commonality, they don’t need to match your other items. Good luck and do let us see your finished product...See MoreJoanna Paul
