Comments (7)Bath v shower. If you go for the shower and no bath, make the space big enough to retrofit a bath in later. Bath is normally less than 900 which is preferred shower width however, If u plan on being there 10 years then can’t loose either way. Talk to your plumber about the most cost effective layout options, for example they may suggest rehanging door to swing other way or moving door to open up other layouts, I agree about corner cabinets, my sister just replaced hers with straight and there is more space not less and much more modern look....See MoreNeed bathroom layout advice please!
Comments (20)thanks siriuskey, have attached more of a floor plan. i am leaning towards (hubby needs convincing) putting bath in master en-suite (new addition) as the bathroom we are renovating would be more of a powder room or bathroom to service the study if that was ever changed into a bedroom. As you can see the guest bedroom has an en-suite off it and 2 other bedrooms in another section are serviced by a bathroom. Ceiling is currently at 2700mm all round, no sloped walls Don’t know why it puts my photos upside down 😩😩😩...See MoreBathroom layout advice - what needs to shrink, what needs to grow
Comments (18)Forget that comment. I see siriuskey has already changed it to avoid that happening. In my bathroom reno at previous house, I had the mirrored storage cabinets above the vanity and toilet and they were so useful. Highgrove bathrooms has some lovely ones IMO. Make sure you buy an off the rack one and then get the wall frame/studs designed to hold it. It works out so much more expensive, getting a customer made mirrored cabinet to fit into a wall cavity. Because the mirrored overhead cabinets were put in the wall cavity, there was no issue with banging your head when you leant over to brush teeth, wash face etc. If the mirrored cabinets went across the whole section of toilet and vanity, you would hold a lot of things in it and it wouldn't matter how small the vanity was because you will be able to store so much in the overhead cabinets. Just be sure that it is deep enough to hold toilet rolls etc. I also got a wall socket fitted into the cabinet so that I could charge things like toothbrush etc whilst they were in the cupboard. It gets more complicated when you are trying to fit powerboards into drawers (well it was for me, so I didnt end up doing it)....See More- 7 years ago
