Paint front door black??
Comments (17)mrjudsonjames - Hardware is from Tradco and they sell through retailers, not direct. You can find them online and they can direct you to where you can look at their products. The cheapest retailer I found was Schotts Emporium. Just before doing my external doors, I changed all the internal doors and kept the existing chrome hardware except for new hinges. This was even though I didn't like them, but I was reluctant to add the expense. Now liking this new hardware on my external doors, I'm exploring getting the same handle on a rose plate and then powder coating my hinges! purplewombat - Thank you for the Bunnings link and the photos you've done! That visual is perfect. I can't quite figure out how to use it myself so might have to give them a call. If you've got any tips that would be great. I wouldn't be adverse to red, but with the green roof and guttering I feel it would be too Christmassy....See MoreMixing Black and Chrome in the bathroom
Comments (30)wow i wonder how samantha's bathroom ended up. I'm readying through today as having picked black taps/ accessories and being recommended by builder to get matt black hinges on shower instead of chrome... now i'm asked about the floor wastes in bathroom floor. am using grey tiles on floor which have a bit of a white fleck through them. debating reverting to chrome hinge on shower and chrome floor wastes but not sure. builder says i can get matt black floor wastes. i guess my concern is in the future... if i wanted to change tapware back to chrome..... a floor waste... not so easy to change... nor a hinge on shower door... but then concerned might look silly and also concerned that the matt black floor waste might age/ scratch etc.... what do you think...See MoreWill black cabinetry be too much?
Comments (12)Thanks all. The kitchen has a window above the sink and a 4.5m stacker door adjacent so the black should be ok. Have decided to go with the black - for back run lower cabinetry and adjacent oven tower Island to be 20mm Cloudburst concrete with white under. . Remaining decisions: Waterfall to one end of island or all just overhang? rear benchtop will be Dekton (porcelain) - black OR a lighter/grey which ties in with the cloudburst??? Comments (11)I , as often seems the case , look at things differently . The cupboards look pleasant , and I gather you want to keep them -- without knowing their condition , I would too . The wooden window sill and door surround are great too , as is the floor . Nothing wrong with the stove and hood either ( can't see enough of the hood so I might be wrong there haha ) . I could live with the taps and the sink ( it has character ) . The tap I categorise the same . I'm sort of in-the-middle about the dishwasher and fridge -- the white doesn't quite work with the stove and even the cupboard colour . Ideally , I'd replace , but I wouldn't get too upset if I had to keep them , at least for a couple of years . So my 'don't like' list is the benchtop , cupboard handles , and the tiles . A couple of others have beaten me to it , but I'd go wood for the benchtop , OR marble or a good marble effect -- offwhites with grey and charcoal streaks . I'll let you make that choice haha . BUT I'd use the sink and tap , as I consider it ties in with the stove . So that leaves the cupboard door handles , and I'd go brass , probably antiqued brass ( darker ) but not an old style with scrolls or stuff -- modern , but as dark brown as I could get . Tiles -- probably those strip ones you get , with narrow charcoal slightly sparkly parts , silvery parts , brushed stainless parts , with a grey grout . The power point on the right I'd revert back to brass plate/surround . If I could , change the fridge and dishwasher to brushed stainless too . So you have wood , darker brown handles , the light cream , stainless , more wood , more stainless , and maybe a greyish marble or more wood ....See MoreThomas C
