Well, I did a trial with a few tiles and then covered them with polyurethane. The trial didn't necessarily go entirely to plan but I was able to establish that PU will be too soft. Epoxy is likely to yellow even indoors, so that leaves me with the following solution: 1. make the tiles thicker (not a big deal) use tile selection and a thicker tile bed to enable a relatively flat surface to be made 3. seal it with a thin polyurethane to protect from mess Thanks for the contributions.

Thanks everyone so much for your suggestions. The general consensus seems to be that we should work on the garden, which we agree with and this is actually what we are in the process of doing. Love bcdc602 suggestion of adding silver leaf plants and grasses. We recently planted two lilly pillies either side of the front window which will grow quite tall and cover those solid brown sections of wall. We are also removing the blue awnings over the coming weeks. Interesting suggestion by telperien to paint the window frames white. Will give that some thought. Thanks again!

Is your home double brick. If double brick, then the external walls are double brick. In Perth we have the red internal utility brick, then the chosen colour of face brick on the outside. If it is not, it may be because building on the boundary, you will require a double brick parapet wall. This is for fire safety and strength. what your seeing maybe the internal walls being built on the boundary. Then the external wall will be built in your chosen brick. If not sure, consult with your builder liaison officer. It's great to get educated on how your home will be built.
