I would lift the frontage by choosing a complimentary stack stone colour combination (on porch frontage). Don't go contrast, but try and find some that will lighten the look. It would also create a focus to the facade which I don't think is a bad thing. You need to ensure there is a fair amount of grey tones in the stack stone (or whatever stone you are using) you choose.

Yes, it would be good to have some images. Don't forget under the eaves - this section adds such a welcoming feature and leads to decisions of front door selection - have a look at www.axolotl.com.au for innovative ideas in outdoor features. Colourbond Paper Bark is an older colour, but with everyone colouring their houses grey or charcoal at the moment, you will have something different - yyaaaayyy. Don't ever make an apology for the ideas you choose - just think outside the square for the next decision.

with surrounding bush the light grey green colour like Colorbond Evening Haze or Cove with some timber highlights for doors and verandah posts etc would be my choice
