Very nicely done - utilised similar space in a 1914 Edwardian split into three suites, retaining the character with inset panels on the doors. left an exposed cubby in a space similar to that where the red basket is in your photo here, or the under-stair bar example earlier, lit from above for an unexpected display of glass art. Good to see creative practicality!

I really like the storage ideas, suggested here; as we ha d a small flat, which had a built-in storage area under the stairs. Looked good and was very useful and practical. If you don't need a storage, I can imagine a cosy reading corner; a comfy sofa, where you can either sit or lie down, scatter cushions...if enough space, you can put a bookshelf behind the sofa. As a powerpoint already there, you can stand a nice-looking, practical lamp; for reading or to create a pleasant atmosphere :) Good luck!

As a parent, I think this is fantastic - especially the computer area being in an 'open space' - according to cyber safety experts one of the most important things caring parents can do is make a family rule about no devices in bedrooms.
