We have nearly finished similar our shower is installed where the broom cupboard was had to move the door into spare room to enable a cupboard for brooms. Big China sink looks like an oversized bathroom sink but still is practicable for laundry. Front loader washing machine under bench /vanity

Ok, leaving the laundry as is coz it's existing I'll focus on the bathroom... - not sure if the opening from the laundry to bathroom is existing too, but if not I would consider moving the doorway 'down' closer to the wall, which would make the space more workable (p.s. a cavity sliding door would work best here) - I would add a highlight window say 04x21 on the 'left'/bath wall with frosted glazing for privacy and would replicate that highlight window with clear gazing above the door/wall separating the laundry and bathroom - if this isn't the main bathroom but an additional one for guests, do you really need a bath in there?... I would swap location of the bath & vanity and have a double walk-in shower along the 'top' 2m wall, with a glass shower screen to maintain light and openness... also better for elderly guest than climbing into/over bath hob - I would put the vanity, a floating one to maintain openness, on the 'left' wall where the bath was, and I would still keep the window to the street at the 'bottom' but maybe centred on the wall could be better Hope that makes sense, let me know what you think and feasibility

Thanks oklouise! So many options to consider - thanks for your time :) I think the best one for us is to make use of the weird alcove space and to use that empty wall as laundry cupboard storage. If all the cupboards are shifted there, then I wonder if there is room in the current laundry for a corner shower, toilet and a sink counter that extends over the top of the washing machine? I have, however, allowed for small cupboards on either side of the window. I tried to do such a plan on the ikea bathroom planner (except I couldn't figure out how to put in a sink and counter top that covers the WM, so that's still to be added). How much leg room do you normally allow for the toilet? Maybe it's still too squishy though??

you need to confirm all the dimensions as there's some discrepancies in the sizes shown in your plan but my suggestions include losing the linen cupboard in favour of a bigger bathroom with space for full size bath, shower, vanity and toilet with linen storage in the vanity under the handbasin and toiletries in wide wall cabinets over the sink and toilet...there's a sliding glass door off the kitchen to an enlarged deck and a galley kitchen with old laundry becoming a combination laundry and pantry with wide counter for under bench washer and blind corner pantry and space for the fridge and removing only portion of the wall allows for an opening between kitchen and living with space leftover for stove, counter, drawers and wall cabinets and more counter with double sink, DW and drawers on the other side
