Comments (20)Congrats, great potential. I agree that a grey like limed white would be great on the walls. The ceilings look lower than some 60s houses and painting both ceiling and walls in the one colour or 1/4 strength can accentuate the height of the rooms. White trim on the skirts and door frames are not too bland but those windows may look better framed with a darker trim. This colour palate will be a great canvas for you to add colour and texture that you indicated you like in furniture, baskets, throws etc. Suggest sticking to painting pre move in and once you've lived there a while you will know what you/house needs. Comments (6)I think the bench/breakfast bar along the deck - with bi-fold windows is a fabulous idea. The storage space under the stairs makes more sense to me than a faux fire. An extendable table is definitely the way to go, especially if it is just the two of you most of the time. As for the kitchen sink - I can only suggest that you move your wall cabinet further right - extending the bench and then the sink can be placed further to the right. Downlights above kitchen bench - we have downlights about a metre apart and they provide excellent coverage. With regards to the cupboards being different in living/kitchen areas. I personally think that if you are going all white, they could be identical - creating continuity....See MoreNeed help with our kitchen island?
Comments (3)Hi mcawston, I wouldn't worry too much about the proportions as much, they appear reasonable. A few things that I consider, include the stone bench length before you need a join as most stone is approx. 3m long (after that you need a join). Also I would tend to go a little wider, as you can have storage on the other side, even if its on 300mm deep. (no has ever said "I have too much storage"). If you are worried about the overall look being thin, you can add a thicker benchtop fascia, this will provide a look of more substance and add some 'weight' to the overall look....See MoreNeed design help with our living room
Comments (16)Dark wall looks great, as does the square set ceiling. Great starting point. Whatever lounge you get, make sure it's leather! So much easier to look after when you have children of any age group! My 20 year old drops more crap than the 15 year old does.... Go for a modern classic design so it suits the existing room and won't fall out of fashion (fad). A quality piece should last for decades and always look great. I like julie herberts chosen pictures, I'm no interior designer but I think they're pretty good and on point!...See Moreoklouise
