clintandvic - are you very minimalist, private people? a lot of the solutions above seem very impersonal - and, while your current artwork might have special meaning for you, it could be found anywhere. I'd go for either the round or cheaper 'floating'-style bookshelves. I definitely wouldn't have a mirror backing for anything on which you are likely to put books (or heavy decorator items such as vases) - too easy to accidentally break the mirror! (I'd be filling the bookshelves here with cookbooks - but that's me), but it seems you don't really envisage books on the shelves? But most of all . . . this is your home, and it seems to be the corner of the kitchen, so close to the heart of your home? Even if you go with the shelves, don't fill them with this season's trendy decorator items - save the space for meaningful objects from your life together! Frame and display all sorts of personal items (not just photos - though I am also a fan of the idea of making it a photo wall): festival or sporting event tickets, maybe framed with a very small poster (you can even find and printout original ads for events from the internet); that crafty thing you bought when you were both away for a weekend . . . don't be afraid to make this space about you, rather than what you think it should look like - and it will make a great talking point to share with guests . . . How much more interesting would this wall look if it featured framed clothes from your wedding/the day you met/your favourite holiday together? GRRRRRR tiny closets are a pain in the side! Have you thought about replacing the shelves with full extension pull out stainless steel baskets? Much easier to get to all items in your closet, the baskets extend fully on slide out mechanisms. We have also recently added to our catalogue a pull out under bed storage basket. Hi Julia, the new pantry is only 30cm deep which going by Ramans measurement of 31cm it will fit beautifully, and a great depth for a pantry. I have already mentioned that he will need to remove the kick board at the rear and side of the new pantry so it fits and is flush into the corner. And yes with my old program I used a wall in place of a panel which I don't have but when you look at that in 3d the wall shows all the way to the ceiling which isn't what I intended. But you will notice that I have again explained that he will need to have a panel the same as the kitchen material to give it a built in look and won't expose the side of the fridge which faces the new pantry. Cost wise this is the best with maximum extra storage. Hopefully Raman can line the new pantry up with the top of the other cabinets keeping the Airconditioner where it is. The second floor plan is just something he might like to consider once he gets over the enormous effort of buying their new home as this will give even more storage. Adding two new 800cm x 30cm pantries with 40cm doors , this exact width to be confirmed and or adjusted by Raman once the fridge is fitted. This is very cost effective and will add that much needed extra storage and the doors will keep everything tidy and keep little hands accessing the pantries.
