Hi Kirsty, could you please advise the colour of your vanity and whether it is a custom made one and if not, could you let me know its name and where you bought it. Also, what is the colour of your floors tiles and where did you get them from. (I have come to the conclusion that charcoal/dark grey tile plus a much lighter grey tile plus white on some walls plus a timber vanity or timber accessories in bathroom , plus white (or close to it) below sink counter top is the way to go for a beautiful bathroom. The trick is figuring out exactly what proportion of each colour to use and where to put them for each particular layout.

It can either look really dramatic or too dark, depending on the size of the room as well as your other components. I've attached a couple of images of our work using dark tiles, the smaller bathroom we have surrounded the bath with dark tiles but then balance it with an extra large mirror to bounce the light around the room. The larger bathroom we have taken the floor colour way onto the wall but used a different texture on the walls for drama. Hopefully this gives you more of an idea but you shouldn't to nervous of the room being dark, it's where you can create a contrast as well as textures. The size of the tiles is dictated more to the skill of your tiler. Some tilers prefer smaller as its easier for them to get the fall right. Using wastes that are linear like the grates make it easier as its straighter for them to cut the tiles. Having round drains do make it harder to tile a fall in the floor with larger tiles but now days there are so many choices with the waste options for the shower spaces that it allows more choice in sizes of tiles. What size shower are you wanting to go? Will it be more like a 1000 x 1200 rather than the standard 900 x 900??

I would recommend going a darker colour too! We have done it several times with clients who (like yourself) can't see what the finished concrete aggregate will look like until afterwards and the darker the better we have found. Like Zaffa said, it would be amazing if you could extend the concrete into the bathroom, as that can be absolutely beautiful and this aggregate look is a fantastic addition to a bathroom. However if you want to break it up I would go for a dark charcoal (large format) tile so you don't risk clashing colours. Darker bathrooms are really stylish so you don't risk sacrificing on style.
