Hi all, it's now 2020! I'm at render stage and would love it to be white but the renderer I spoke with this morning said to think long and hard about 'white! as it gets dirty very easily especially taking into account the recent dust-storm, not to mention the ash and smoke from the ongoing bushfires. I would like to know: how your respective white renders are coming along in regards to appearance, staining and maintenance; and what type of render and render finish do you have? I am looking at a sandy Rokcote acrylic render. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

Colour choices! It’s pure insanity! I ended up going with Haymes Paint Nearly White 3 in their bass colour (so not mixing it in another base). If you want to go with Dulux then I hear that Grand Piano Half or Hog Bristle Half is also good. My only advice is choose up to 3-4 colours and that’s it. Any more, then it may be better to pay for a colour consultation with one of the big companies (which would give you a discount on paint anyway) and take the headache out of it all together!!

Hi everyone, well the good news is my house is having the pictures taken tomorrow morning ahead of the first home open. Thank you all for the advice offered and shared. In the end I had to keep to a low budget as its unlikely I'll get it back in the sale price. What I want to do it MOVE it quickly, as the market is poor and we are heading toward Christmas. The first 30 days are VIP. So I did the following; -exterior eaves, guttering paint - whole house interior wall paint (grand piano quarter) and one ceiling - carpet throughout from Harvey Norman - verticals, as other spotlight/ikea options did not fit. I needed to have these made. - new lightfittings - remove exterior rotary clothes line, put an Aldi one that comes from one wall. - cleaning of pavers with high pressure cleaner (my new found friend) - cleaning of kitchen tiles and grout with toothbrush, gumption and patience (gumption is also my new friend) - new shower screen So there we have it! Thanks again for your help and colour suggestions, and multiple suggestions to CLEAN. This CLEAN priority cannot be understated. I considered staging the home however I believe as it is modest and first home buyer home and a new migrant market, it wasn't worth the spend. Fingers crossed!

Sorry Azza I don't have access to a full strength picture of Grand Piano....but why don't you paint up a swatch of Natural white from a sample pot (if you are near Gordon Park, I may even have a sample pot under my house still that I could give you as I have used Natural white elsewhere in my house. Also get a sample of your benchtop colour and cupboard colour and take it done to focus glass designs...and check out the colour both indoors and outdoors to see how they look in extreme of lights (because the lighter colours do vary depending on the light)....If you rang focus design beforehand and explained that one of their previous customers had recommended them on houzz website but that you were locked into the supplier based on who was building the house and would they mind if you just look at the Grand Piano colour in their showroom.......I found them so helpful, I think that they wouldn't mind you popping in to check out a couple of colours in their showroom. It is just a small family business....but had excellent customer service. They tell you whether the colour will achieve the look you are going for or not and that sort of advice is priceless ....the colour I initially wanted to use would have looked awful in my kitchen...
