PRO6 years agoWith that much space there are lots of options to explore. I would avoid having a shower and clothes storage in the same room due to the risk of moisture, and potential mould problems with your clothes. I would be exploring a walk through robe to gain access through a door to an ensuite at the front. This way you can avoid corner hanging space in your robe as it is difficult to access and inefficient.

Large ensuite/walk in robe but no storage space!
Comments (6)In the ensuite, a towel shelf above the bath taps, not too deep but could use the full width of the wall to store extra towels, bath mats etc. There looks like room above the hamper for a double towel rail (one above the other or one with two rails or double hooks instead of the single ring). May need to move the laundry hamper to the other side of the bath neary the bedroom door. WIR, suggest you just use this for hanging space and if you haven't already get a couple of good size dressers in the main bedroom that would store all your folded items - may not be any need to go to the expense of building another wardrobe. Take down the shelving racks, work out how to optimise the space available for the cloths you need to hang. Tops and pants on double rails or get some trouser racks and shoe racks, do you need much long hanging space, would you store coats in here or is there other storage elsewhere. A high shelf above the hanging could be used for out of season or special occasion clothes stored in suitable boxes. I have attached a photo of our recent custom wardrobe fit out as we don't have a walk in in this house and have had to make the best use of the space available. I measured and drew it up on graph paper first then we installed Neata and Elfa units. Still waiting on the top racks to arrive though to complete it. You will be surprised how much hanging space you can get with double rails. There are plenty of options for shoe storage racks if you want to include these in your walk in or cupboards that could be unobtrusive in your bedroom. Comments (17)We have the same layout as you in our 90s spec built home. We have Bunnings type cavity sliders so I imagine ours are about as cheap as you can get. They are awful - they are noisy when they slide so if one of us gets up in the night for the bathroom, we have to open the door in slow motion so as not to wake the other one up! We have them on our other wet rooms through the house and I find them not too bad acoustically but they don't screen anything in the ensuite. I would not recommend them at all. As for whether to have 1 or 2 doors, the only time I close the WIR door is when I am at my wits end haha! Comments (24)So with all the great suggestions and feedback regarding space surround the bath and vanity bench space, I’ve gone back to the drawing board and came up with this- see plan attached- although it’s a bit less interesting, I can use the view north and set the bath up on a platform with a large window with shutters to make it the feature of the room, also ensuring adequate vanity bench space- what do you all think?...See More

I don't like having to walk through a robe to get to the bathroom as per the rough sketch you could enter both from the passage way rather than having that entrance next to the bed. Sizes not correct , you could change the position of the shower and vanity.

This gives a shower 1800 x 1200 and a Vanity 2100, towel rails on wall next to shower and on the back of the shower wall for the vanity.

- 6 years agoThe entry to the bedroom is so it match the other end of the hallway, where no doors were visible and the hallway wrapped around.
I love everything to be symmetrical, so I think that’s a huge issue for me...

- 6 years agoHi Alli, using Siriusky drawing, I have adapted space, which still leaves your hall as originally wanted (symmetrical with your other hall.) Access is as wanted, from the bedroom. Leaves your hallway free of doors, it does however, compromise on WIR space.

As I have mentioned before oklouise and Siriusky designs that incorporate the hall into your room are a better use of space.
But, as it is your home, and you know what you want, then this design is fine. We have read plenty of times on this site, about designing from the inside out. This maybe a reason for your dilemma. You are going from the outside in, and those windows are restricting your design.

And dont use partition walls in the toilet or shower. just use white glass or shower glass screen. They are thin, modern, and looks good.

- PRO6 years agoI just saw your sketch. Its a good idea. But I don't think long corridors inside bedroom will look good. And if you need to use toilet, its an extra walk in and turn and back again.
