Shower grates- which one works best?

Hi Houzzers! I'm renovating my bathroom and wanted to know what type of shower drain works best? I want a linear grate along the back wall and I'm not too fussed about how it looks. I just want the most efficient and practical drain.
Also plumber suggested to get the biggest outlet possible (at least 75mm) as the standard 50mm are not great. We have a single shower head and our design is open (i.e one glass panel) and will probably choose a 1m length grate. Problem is that when I've looked at websites for bigger outlet drains they're all very expensive ($350+)!
Would appreciate any opinions and experience by fellow renovators. I don't want to fork out the big bucks unless it's absolutely essential!

we also like the look of the back to wall shower grate and have not been able to find cheaper and longer sizes are much more expensive but we have one shower with the grate against the wall and another shower with a shorter shower grate across a doorway and despite preferring the look of the grate along the wall the smaller one at the outside of the shower is more efficient, cheaper and much easier to clean

Hi, probably too late to comment now as you've already gone with someone on this project. Along the wall is the most common solution as it is easier to create falls, particularly if you have large format tiles. You will get water out of the shower given this is a just a freestanding panel, and it will also be cold in winter (speaking from experience) without a door on it. In the Australian Standards you are required to have a 'water stop' or step down to at least 5mm - most people don't do this and this is where problems can start from a waterproofing point of view. Thanks Gionenne! I'll include a pic of the couch I bought. I was thinking of having the L (Chaise) on the right side (I.e not along the window side). because I was thinking if I was lying on the chaise I'd face the window not the wall or if guests came in they would also face the window if sitting on the chaise but yeah do have concerns about feeling open. sliding door opens from the other window near where the fridge will be. Thoughts?

along under the window for towels for the vanity and opposite the toilet for the shower (extra reinforcing in the wall around the cavity slider) will make the wall wide and strong enough for a double height towel rail..and a half wall beside the toilet would make a better place for a toilet roll holder...nb the new wiw is based on assumed dimensions as measurements on the plans are not clear or always accurate so you should mark out the new walls to see if you would feel comfortable with the changes making sure that the small hall inside the bedroom entry doors is at least 90cm deep
