BEFORE & DURING. I forgot to take a photos of the window before I painted, but you can just see it in the first photo, BLUE! All the skirting & frames were blue! The wardrobe doors had never been painted so were very dirty & stained and the wall colour that I actually thought was a dirty yellow seemed more beige once I painted over it with my lovely pale yellow. It has brightened the room up so much. The only thing I haven't done is the blue door. In my other daughters room (which is mirror image of this room) all four doors were painted blue!! It was a really big job to cover that blue. And so with this room I decided instead I will swap it for another door in house that will be getting taken out when we renovate. :-)

I had slip covers made a couple of years ago by a lady named Sabrina based in Fremantle. Her business name then was Cosy Covers, however the closest to that I can find is Kosy Covers in Kalamunda (she may have moved?). Their no is 92572416. Their overview says they make removable slip covers. If it is Sabrina she did a very good job & was reasonably priced.

Hi painters are like any other trade, in that they quote based on how many hours of labour they are going to spend on the job and this dictates the price. We have painter's that are award winning and put a lot of prep in both before and in between coats, and everything is 3 coated. That's reflected in a higher price. We have an even more expensive one who is an absolute craftsman and the work he does is both amazing and expensive. We also have a painter that prices based on just coming in and pretty much spraying everything and minimal prep. It's a cheap and cheerful job that some people want for either budget or purpose (eg selling). As posted above, if you have a few quotes and ask questions about the prep you can make a better informed decision. cheers
