Need laundry advice!
Comments (15)In situations like these, it depends what you normally use your laundry sink for. If you don't really need a 'laundry' tub as such, I usually recommend that my clients get a nice, comfortable and good-looking bathroom basin that they feel will suit their needs, and install a kitchen sink mixer, instead of a normal basin tap, so that the tap can be moved if you need to use the basin for larger items. Then add a hand towel ring and nice hand-soap dispenser and you have a dual purpose washing area. I always try to install washing machines and dryers in tower units, but not at the cost of benchspace - so it will really depend on the room layout (which I can't quite determine from your photos). Neat overhead storage is a must. Underbench pull-out clothes baskets and broom cabinets are always good, if you have the room. All the best!...See MoreWanting advice on paint colour
Comments (19)Hi there! I do love your kitchen and I don't want to put a complete spanner into the works… but I'm not in love with the timber finishes. I can see the timber door frame adjacent to white sliding doors and then the timber capping piece along the top of the cupboards adjacent to the ceiling. However, do I see a stainless steel finish to the kick board below the sink area? To me, the wood is a difficult distraction from your new kitchen and I would like to see it painted over …I can't see the adjoining areas and I understand you have a brick internal wall…. but it seems to ruin the look to me and might be hindering you finding the right combinations of white and make the space seem more limited than it is by creating a border....See MoreAdvice on whites
Comments (7)Dulux Natural White is a favorite of ours, great choice for the walls. It has a bit of every tone in it & can make other whites look a little blue-ish & stark, without knowing what the Caesarstone looks like exactly, perhaps this has been your problem. So a suggested colour for the cupboard doors is Antique White USA (if you can select a Dulux colour) which also has 3 tones in it but looks a little brighter/fresher - which is nice for cupboards. Especially if they're glossy. Another option - if your cupboards are super high gloss, then using Natural White will work well. Whites always look a little lighter when finished in high gloss. One more option - use the colour your trims (door frames, skirting, etc) is painted for your cupboard doors to give great balance to the overall look. Hope that helps a little :)...See MoreDulux Vivid White Paint - advice needed
Comments (7)It will be interesting I have now appointment an independent building inspector to do the final defects on our apartment and I have mentioned to him also that the painting on the doors and architraves is totally different to the wall colour, and that it should be exactly the same. He couldn't understand how that could be. I will be taking photos to Bunnings on Saturday. That door colour is horrible and I will not be giving in (I have had 4 homes previously and never had this issue with a painter/builder). I will definitely keep you posted....See Moredreamer
