Matt black stone benchtop recommendations...
Comments (3)Hi Lesley. I work for a kitchen/cabinetry manufacturer and getting all my joinery done through them. They have offered to give me upgrades at cost price (no margin) so non-direct is not an issue for me :) Thankyou for the suggestion though - I'll look into it....See MoreMixing Matt white kitchen cupboard doors with gloss
Comments (2)Its going to stick out no matter what you do. Is there no budget to reface the cupboard doors and drawers? My Only Suggestion is to not do a White Gloss and instead use a Ravine laminate or a totally different colour and use the colour somewhere else in the kitchen like the off cuts for a frame for some artwork. Or on the kicks. If its going to stick out, and it will, then go all out. The next best option is go to a joinery company ask if you can take some off cuts out of the bin, make a temporary shelf and save up so you can do everything at the one time. If you redo the kitchen you will end up redoing that cabinet to get a consistent colour. Even with colour matching there is still slight differences because one is new and the other is old....See MoreAnything in-between high gloss and Matt laminate bench tops
Comments (0)Can't decide whether to go for high gloss laminate benchtops. Wish could get something in between. Looking at white Valencia or pure mineralstone. Don't like the full look of natural and scared of the high gloss for upkeep....See MoreNeed help re high gloss or matte, white or beige
Comments (4)Your choice but gloss kitchens do definately date a kitchen as it's a highly specific fashion. My last rental property had high gloss cabinets and they showed every fingerprint on the cabinets which was a real pain. Each time I wiped the cabinet doors I then had to go back over them with a dry lint free cloth to make sure they dried without smears. Because they were two-pack and not laminate doors they also chipped on the edges and looked awful as it was a dark gloss and you could clearly see the substrate in every chip. The laminate kitchens I've used have all been much friendlier to a high traffic area prone to use and abuse of the cabinets. Since your floor is already high gloss I wouldn't compete with that on the cabinets as well. Better to let the floor be the star of that show. You are also planning on an engineered stone counter which will presumably be relatively glossy as well. Sometimes an effect is alluring because it's the focal point of the room. If the entire room were gloss surfaces then none of it gets to stand out and draw the eye....See MoreKelly Bell
