Waterproofing an existing glass brick wall and advice on bathroom plan

Hi all. We are planning to renovate our main bathroom (you can see it in the centre of the floor plan).

The updated bathroom needs to cater for two adults and two growing kids (now 10 & 3yo).

We have another separate toilet but would love to add a toilet in the main bathroom as well.

There are no other bathrooms in the house.

We use both the bathtub and the shower a lot.

We really dislike showers over baths.

We could really use two sinks.

With all this in mind, we came up with the suggested plan below. The problem is that the bathroom has a curved glass block wall where we would like the shower to be. It's only glass from the top of the current bath up, not all the way down like in the design picture below. When the bathtub is out, we would need to rebuild the bottom part. It doesn't have to be glass at all, and we could waterproof it as needed.

We are still looking for a builder to do the works. One of the guys we talked to said waterproofing the glass wall won't be a problem, while another said that won't really be achievable.

So the question I have is - is it possible to waterproof an existing glass block wall? Also, if anyone has a better suggestion for the plan, that would be really appreciated too. I know the dimensions are quite tight but we could live with that. And disregard the laundry basket!

Thanks all in advance.
