White on trims, doors, ceiling. A lot of good painters still use oil based enamels on doors and architraves. A trick a painter told me years ago was if you paint walls white (or any other colour really) use the same colour but as a ceiling paint on the ceiling. Easier to cut in and can look great rather than using the off the shelf ceiling white that is quite stark and cold. Depends on wall colour, etc. but we used White Watsonia on walls and ceiling and looks fantastic. Normal ceiling white would be too stark in our case.

Hi Alyssa Alban, For your floor boards - polyurethane with a satin finish is great for high traffic areas or if you have kids and/or pets. It is a hard wearing surface. The alternative is tongue oil for a more natural finish. A stain could be applied to change the colour and feel of the rooms. As for the walls and trims - if you want to keep the traditional look, I would suggest to maintain the timber trims or, if you would like to freshen or lighten up the scheme, I would use Dulux Natural White Acrylic Wash and Wear for the walls, and Dulux Natural White satin on the trims. If you're thinking about the doors, I would go with Dulux Natural White in semi-gloss, which is a nice clean finish. Try dulux snowy mountains. Just hope you plan to bring some colour and textured elements into space. With the tiled light floor, the effect might a bit cold.

Hi I need help I have decided on a white kitchen valley style with laundry at one end pantry at other end colour is laminex linen white in painted finish My question house walll colour is dulux natural white Trim was going to be vivid but feel the trim needs now to blend with the kitchen cupboards I thought of putting opaque glass doors either side for laundry and pantry so there will be minimal area to possibly not blend I bought sample pot if half natural white How do you think this will go?
