I am so happy.. the house was so decayed so we decided to rebuild the same look of a 100 year old cottage but move all the living to the front for the river view.. so happy we did it and went for light grey and white and yellow.. so pleased and we have people in the park comment.. we could not go any bigger because of council and flood zone but it makes it special as it is. Some pictures I just took.. I took a picture of the outlook so you can see why it feels just right.. still work to do as in the gardens and just finding the right plants to put in as it is full sun. Will ask for help on that one too to make it feel cottagey but not block the view. Thanks again for asking. Karen

Are you thinking of painting because of maintenance or just aesthetics? Have you talked to your real estate agent about whether changing the colour palette would improve curb appeal. Your home's facade is a bit dated but not so offensive that it would put buyers off and if they wanted to change the colours to suit their tastes then they will anyway at some point. Unless the paint is peeling, leave it as it is and put your energy into a really nice garden as that will be more attractive to buyers. From the photo your letterbox looks like it is lost and should be moved closer to the path to the front door. Better planting and some pots on the verandah would make it look more welcoming. Ask for some landscaping advice as this will be a more effective approach to improving your curb appeal. All the best with selling your house.

first repair the leak and repaint the trim then remove the plants beside the steps and consider adding wider steps and a new floor in the porch with decking, pressure wash footpath and consider painting the path to complement the existing colour scheme (deeper peach colour?) which will help emphasise the great looking white door which is more than enough decoration with the small table and some fresh new plants away from the steps..it's already a good looking house without the extra frills
