Hi again Sophia, Your Photo 1, looks good. When considering design options I always consider the "regular use preference". That is, you have an efficient design (toilet location) which you will use all the time. The odd occasion where the toilet flush is heard (OMG) by the occupant of bed 2 would be perhaps 2% of the time? I know it not perfect, but renovations never are. Therefore, if the toilet in that location is efficient for your m.bed, i would go with that over making it inefficient just for the bed 2 occupant to not hear the toilet flush 2% of the time. i hope that makes sense? With the moisture in the WIR, there are options. you could put in an extra ceiling exhaust fan, or ceiling vents in the WIR, or even a small highlight window in the WIR (perhaps a permanent vent or lourves) - i believe there is a solution there for sure. moving the wall 200mm, will just come down to your preference and requirements for clothes. your choice. It is so great to hear homeowners understanding that the investment in design is worthwhile - I believe it is where your home is made ... where it can realise its full potential, or be a handicap and compromise your daily life. It can be hard to be patient ... usually when homeowners actually hit the 'go' button on building or renovating, there has been YEARS of wishing, planning, dreaming and collecting of ideas. So when it finally comes time to put all of that hoping into planning and action, you can be at breaking point. REALLY sick of your existing home, or really excited (or desperate!) to get into a new home, or a bigger renovated home, or a home with more modern spaces and conveniences, or the area you actually want to live in ... the list goes on. So it's understandable that homeowners can want to race through the design process - or choose a plan from a catalogue that suits their needs for size and function - and just get it built. Whilst lines are on a page though, that is where things are relatively inexpensive. It's where you can explore ideas, make sure you're making the most of your site and your money, and that you're setting yourself up for a home and life that is as great as it can be. Because once you start building, that linework becomes permanent choices you have to live with on a daily basis. It also is difficult to keep an eye on the big picture. Building and renovating may feel like one big decision - but it's actually a series of small decisions. Often you'll make one, which will lead to another, which will lead to another. And if the first decision hasn't been made with the best information, or with the best framework - then every consequential decision can lead you down a rabbit hole and just make matters worse. So, stepping back and remembering what you're seeking to achieve ... which for many people is a family home that is functional, flexible, comfortable and safe (and that doesn't financially stress them) ... is the important helicopter view to get yourself back to when things seem to be frustrating or overwhelming you. answering your questions: change the sliding door to a bench height sliding window and use the salvaged sliding door in the western end of the dining room where the best entry position is for the deck, you MUST have a proper legal drains do not consider anything else...the drain pipe for the garage laundry can be on top of the concrete floor, behind the washing machine and through the sink cabinet and/or under built in storage and only needs a few cms not a whole floor and no stepped up area that you would see or trip over.. the laundry can't be in a separate room as there's not enough space for a separate laundry without compromising the size of the garage...a laundry cupboard 80 cm deep is enough for the washing machine (allowing for the drainage pipe) you could use the old line cupboard to store anything you want but it's not cost effective to change, the entry foyer is already as big as in many modern homes and there's generous flatpac biw space in the small study.... the family bathroom is 2380 x 2370 (ie the old study minus 1m for hall way and wall thickness and, arranged exactly as shown to allow for the wide window there should be space for a bath up to 1800 x 750, vanity about 1200 x 500 and shower space 1200 x 800 and leftover space makes the small linen cupboard with the door deliberately opening towards the shower to use the back of the door for hanging racks for towels and clothes....btw i understood your priority was maximizing separate sleeping rooms and minimising costs...my last plan has five separate sleeping rooms plus the lounge with sofa bed totalling sleeping places for at least 10 people plus the potential for bunks in the garage so you need to decide what is most important and where you're prepared to compromise

Apologies, working off of my phone. The current floor plan as per link. Essentially we are wishing to change the home from a 3 bed 1 bath(ensuite effect) to a 4 bed 2 bath. All without changing any external walls/extending. Existing kitchen -> family bathroom. Existing laundry/WC & pdr vanity -> hallway to garage/euro laundry. Existing bath -> Ensuite. Existing Dining area -> New Kitchen Existing Meals area -> Bed 4/Study The current sliding door in dining room (new kitchen) we will change to suit the layout of the kitchen. Thinking hinged glazed door with a 1200 high sidelight which a bench will sit below dependent on cabinet layout. The existing Vanity, WC are will be demolished to streamline that area and create a hallway/euro ldry. We cant move the kitchen into the existing living area, mainly due to getting plumbing there for drainage will be hard. As is we will be trenching into the slab from old vanity drainage point to the proposed kitchen area. We're also wishing to keep the proposed bathroom location around the old kitchen to utilise plumbing points and ease of installing new WC.
