Your home looks like it may be 'vintage' so you may not want to paint the doors if they are in good condition but you may want to frame them. Have some fun in your hallway with some colour. After all you don't spend that much time there and it is the first impression everyone will have of your home when they walk in. Paint the trim one colour and the walls another. As others have said put some 'pop' in the area with what you hang on the walls. Perhaps you have a favourite painting or picture that can give you the inspiration for the colours to use.

Hi there! I do love your kitchen and I don't want to put a complete spanner into the works… but I'm not in love with the timber finishes. I can see the timber door frame adjacent to white sliding doors and then the timber capping piece along the top of the cupboards adjacent to the ceiling. However, do I see a stainless steel finish to the kick board below the sink area? To me, the wood is a difficult distraction from your new kitchen and I would like to see it painted over …I can't see the adjoining areas and I understand you have a brick internal wall…. but it seems to ruin the look to me and might be hindering you finding the right combinations of white and make the space seem more limited than it is by creating a border.

What a lovely house, a paint update will look really exciting! Contrary to all the colours you've chosen, I'd go instead with a warm grey (hint of taupe in it). It will always be classic, would look amazing with fresh white window frames and dark charcoal eaves (e.g. Dulux Monument). Cue my favourite colour: Dulux Dieskau. I just think there's quite a large area of uninterrupted rendered wall so I'd worry that if you go too bluish, it could look to be verging on pastel and a gingerbread house type effect. My brother painted Tranquil Retreat on his rendered Victorian and it has come up more blue than he'd thought (actually he was also considering Milton Moon). But of course, test paint a few walls sections with different aspects and check during the day from different angles (and even across the road)!! Actually there's another photo and paint colour I love that reminded me of this, I'll try and track it down.

Actually....I have one more white paint question everyone if you don’t mind! We will be using terrazzo tiles in the bathroom (off white base with Carrara marble chips) and white textured subway tiles. I had planned to paint the remaining sections of wall white too but now I’m on this white paint odyssey I’m wondering if it’s going to work or if I’d be better to go with a contrasting colour instead. If I do paint with white, should I match it back with the wall tiles? The closest colour is lexicon which is obviously pretty cold/blue - the room has a large east facing skylight but I’m concerned about it feeling a bit sterile...appreciate your thoughts!
