I do like Shale Grey. Could be worth looking into it a bit more as Shale isn't stark like a white nor is it really a definite grey. I'd get a sample of each such as an off cut of the window and compare it to the render colour. The glass can affect the overall look as can natural lighting, etc.. Some colours look great in a sample colour chart but look poor when on the wall and vice versa... Colour consultant's certainly have a good eye in many cases...

A few people have asked for the colours I used on my house. I used the Resene colour range. *Weather boards - Ash *Battens - Triple Ash *Trims, window frames and vertical rails on stairs and deck- Alabaster *Top Hand rails and accents (pretty much anything that was red) - Half Nocturnal *Stair treads - Alabaster in centre, Ash on sides *Stringers on stairs - Ash Hope this helps :)

Thank you so much everyone for taking the time to respond. Your first photo siriuskey is the colour scheme I'd love to go with so good to hear that you'd think it would match with the blonde brick. I also like the shale grey roof idea butterflyroof and you're right that you don't see much of the roof at all (mainly when looking out the upstairs bedrooms). The olive green is definitely another possibility to look at oklouise and I've made a note to use 'mid-century' in search terms. Definitely plan to pressure clean bricks and a bit relieved to hear that leaving them is the better option. I'm still finding it hard to imagine a darker grey cladding like monument with the blonde brick debluc but it's certainly been suggested a few times so I'll keep searching for inspiration. Thanks again :) (attached is a photo of a house near us that I like and that has a brownish tinge to the cladding that would hopefully work with our bricks as it seems to work with their sandstone - maybe dune colourbond?)

If this is a cubby house, please do not choose a black roof. The poor children will be roasting inside in summer. Choose a lighter colour. I would be asking how the occupants of the cubby will be lasting in the long hot summer not the colorbond roof.
