Kitchen splash back tiles - help identifying?

Does anyone recognise these tiles? We are building and would love to use the same tiles as are in our current home, but need help identifying them. They seem to be a glazed terrracotta, would’ve been laid early 1990’s, no markings at all on reverse. Someone once told us they were designer tiles, maybe ‘Peter ?surname’, didn’t pay enough attention unfortunately.

Sadly as tiles are considered a fashion item by the manufacturers you would be very lucky to source the same tile so long after it was made, and been in fashion. Having the luck to source that tile as new-old stock would be the same sort of luck you need to win Tattslotto. Most mainstream tile suppliers will not carry stock like that as it is not currently fashionable.

I can point you in the direction of a niche Melbourne supplier who I regularly use for clients who are renovating their 1960s and 1970s home and who want to use tiles that are appropriate for their original homes. While these tiles are very similar handmade tiles to yours, they are not exactly the same.

Thank you! I wasn’t expecting them to be easy to get at all, narrowing down what they were might have made it easier to find the needle in the haystack. Urban Edge were already on my list to go to see next week, appreciate the advice.

We use and like Hertro-seal. Even on white grout it seals it well. We apply with a small paint brush and put on several coats. Process should be repeated every 3-5 years.

I think cherry glass would cheapen it. Have you considered a mirror glass, don't know if I would like to maintain it but others here swear by it. Tiles like Earp Bros suggested look good. I also like the glass mosaics but they might be a bit blingy for your room. I went back to laminate for my new kitchen and I really don't think you can beat it - it just looks so clean and uncluttered, and better still, it doesn't break the bank. Congratulations on a beautiful job.

Hi Sue, I think it would look amazing if you used some tiles with a bit of texture. The wood look tiles that are popular at the moment would be an example. If you chose a colour that toned in with your floor you would get a really nice cohesive look but with a bit of interest. I've attached a photo of a recent design of mine as an example. We got our tiles which are same from a Daniel Robinson in Nunawading Victoria in the 1990s.
