What's you budget like? If possible, think about floor to ceiling mirror sliding doors! They definitely add extra value to your home, are classic looking so it will never go out of date, they can compliment any existing interior design you choose and make the bedroom appear a lot bigger as well! If your budget is small, you may either have to paint the doors a colour to compliment the space, or you can attach mural wallpaper that you can peel off at a later date, or just replace with new doors that kind of look like frosted glass, but it's not actually frosted glass at all! Hi Brooke, no, I do not think mirrored wardrobe doors will date. My suggestion would be to have one door a mirror and other white glass. The white glass still reflects the light, and is less obtrusive than having a whole wall of mirrors. Your son could have the white glass as well, if he doesn't want a mirror. You could also mix vinyl wrapped plasterboard doors, with a mirrored door.

If the storage in the hallway butts up against a storage/wardrobe in a bedroom you could reallocate the space. Sometimes single wardrobe doors have a wider space behind. You could enlarge the front access to be larger and put in two smaller size doors. I think if you update all the handles throughout your house it will uplift the feel to a modern look.

Yes that’s correct 5 x 500 doors in high gloss & the mirror 250, all from IKEA. I’ll take a pic so it’s not on such an angle. I’m actually pleased I went with the doors. Use an old fashioned hand drill (the kind our grandparents had) to drill the holes in for handles. The high gloss is protected with a film & take it off once the doors are installed to avoid scratching.
