need suggestions for tiny house living
Comments (1)How tiny? You're on the right track with multi use . Also think small sized furniature, sofa beds, trundle beds, table instead of obvious desk, nest of side tables instead of individual side tables. Look for dining chairs that are comfortable enough to use as occasional chairs. Put your TV on the wall, or on top of a buffet or chest of drawers. Although they take up space, small rooms really need to be kept tidy, and a few drawers can hide a multitude of clutter. Small houses can feel like a warm and loving hug. If you search for these stories you will also get names of the companies involved in designing them, and you can go from there.......See MoreLooking for builders/ carpenters to help with a tiny house build
Comments (11)Hi Wendy, and thanks for the luck! We didn't get planning permission. As it's a transportable structure, that's not necessary. The house isn't anywhere near finished yet, so it's not something we can really travel with at the moment. Could be on the cards for the future, though with this particular house we're actually looking to sell it once it's finished. Definitely sounds like a good way to spend your life :) D.R. Developments, we're actually in South Hurstville, so not far from you. We basically need help to finish waterproofing and cladding the exterior walls, roof (flashings etc.), re-doing the interior walls and floors due to water damage and sorting out the solar electricity and plumbing systems. Once all of that's done, I'm going to be building the furniture for the internal fit-out myself, which I'm very excited about!...See MoreUrgently need help with our tiny-bathroom design
Comments (58)For storage, I used a mirrored lift up cupboard door above the sink area in my very small ensuite with some success. We put power points inside the cupboard too - it was a very good place to have them as the door lifts up & is out of the way. I also used some of the wall space to allow slightly deeper shelves, without the cupboard jutting so far into the room. The cistern was recessed into the wall cavity, (in our case below the window) & it worked well to save a little space in the room. Photos are not very good, but I hope you can get the idea.. It worked very well. The ensuite was 1mx2m. We use vertical towel rails. They're really good & very compact, but do make sure the electrician installs them up the right way. They work on the heat rising principal & do not work well upside down as ours were installed!Hope this is helpful. Good luck....See MoreLollylegs
