Need help desperately on colours

Hi I am renovating an older 60's /70's house. It is two tone brick, the top is a cream/yellow brick and the bottom is red brick, not even a nice red. So it all snowballed when we decided to get double glazed windows and you cant get the aneodised aluminium anymore so I have choice of colourbond colours only. So I thought I'd get the ugly red brick rendered as I dont hate the top half and then get window frames to compliment the whole look. So at first I thought go with something conservative like the house down the road, see last photo. Someone advised me on a darkish grey called Malay Grey dulux colour for the render and including the garage door (ps she tells me to never make a feature of the garage door and although that is way out of my comfort zone I would do it if I thought it was going to look good, with surfmist for the window frames, frontdoor, side fence, and balcony rail. Opinions please. I would be very grateful.
