Comments (12)Hi there Double D, you have a very pretty house the windows and stone feature wall are wonderful. I was thinking that perhaps you could put a flat roofed portico out from your entrance similar to the photo without the extra pitched roof but by replacing that with a narrower pergola across the front, it would have similar flat exposed beams as per the photo and would allow light into the house with future plans for the double carport to come out from house over the circular driveway( where to car is currently parked) so two cars parked side by side parallel to the house, built in the same style as the portico, this would depend on how much space you have and the set back from the boundary allowed to build The Icebergs would have to be transplanted, if you were concerned about light getting back into the house you could add some clear panels into portico Happy Easter to you as well...See MoreHelp with exterior colours please
Comments (3)There are 1000s of colours available. You don’t need to limit yourself to Colorbond colours like Shale Grey and Monument. What colour would make you happy every time you arrive home and see your house? The deeper blue of your sample would look great....See MoreExterior re-vamp/modernise help please
Comments (16)In the second pic , the house next door ( to your right ) looks to have a dark roof and trim , so that partially answers your query about the heat -- just ask them ! Having said that , your main roof looks to be darkish , the one above the garage doors that horrid 80's green , and the gutters a fetching pink ? So like most , I'd try and get as many things dark as possible -- roof , gutters , uprights , etc . In fact , if budget allows , I'd consider changing the front doors -- they are pleasant enough , and let in light , but I'd like double solid doors -- I'd go Bright Red to make it a focal point , avert the eyes , and it will work with the bricks ; but I suspect most people would go a charcoal or Japanese Black or similar . And you say about modernising the look , but I think that unless you render or paint all the bricks ( I'm personally not a fan of either ) you will always have those bricks , so anything else is just playing around the edges . For example , you could spend $2k upwards to change the wrought iron railing on that upstairs terrace ( I'm not even sure if it can be seen easily from the street ? ) , and go modern dark smoked glass , but everyone will still see those bricks ....See MoreSabeen Saleem
