I did repaint mine once using the techniques suggested above and the tub surround was in the same condition as yours. It lasted more than 10yrs. Make sure you sand the rust right back if you can. Also suggest you tape newspaper around the entire area (floor, walls, doorway, stainless top etc) as the overspray from the paint will travel and make a mess.

I love it, and are considering this myself which is why I can offer an insight to installation. Yours is luckily freestanding, however I would install this central to the long part of your L and enclose it within cabinetry, actually yours is Likely to just be faced with fake doors and no carcass behind, still a place to utilize storing buckets or baskets, even laundry powder, just not a standard cupboard. I would then actually install a stone benchtop making this technically undermount trough. You would still have the practical size and aesthetic impact this concrete relic has to contribute. Only, with the bench top area to make it a useable space.

I would have thought that public liability cover would be included in any quote just as professional indemnity insurance is part of professional fees, however I acknowledge that it would be a huge portion of the overall fee and would not be surprised that insurance may be declined under the circumstances, therefore ending all hope of the move. I do agree that it may be cheaper to build from scratch than to buy an existing home and relocate it which has been our experience in the past. Relocation involves council fees, a structural engineer to determine lifting points, services terminated etc. An experienced home relocation company will know where and how to lift the home without breaking its back. Building from scratch will give you what you want and doesn't require any retro fit to be compliant with todays requirements such as insulation to walls etc, which is why I strongly suggested that you do your homework by starting with a site inspection and quote from an experienced home relocation company not just a crane company. Your dreams may end right there and then. 'mI sorry to be so blunt. I don't like to put a negative spin on your dreams but I don't want to see you end up with a broken home that can't be repaired or worse still a huge law suit if damage to a neighbours home was to eventuate. It's a great idea and may save you some money and will save you time, just do your homework. All the very best.

great attitude Linh Le, don't hurry, always ask for professional advice and use qualified tradepeople...the cost is the first thing forgotten when you achieve a great result...and double check with your accountant about the best ways to finance work for an investment property as costs are assessed in different ways and much easier to keep the records as the work is done, best of luck with your project
