definately hang them on the same wall as your console table the other side will handle stair case and through traffic.

Hi Zaffa - so my drawing was pretty pathetic so thought I'd show you some photographs of my children that I took a week ago on a sunset shoot :) These are digital image files using a 'mock up frame' on Photoshop to give you an example. The top row is the framed prints centred on the expanse of wall - with say for example approximately 900mm (90cm) from wall to the 1st pic and 900mm from last pic to the wall with say 100mm (10cm) equally between each print. The last row is all framed prints, centred across the entire expanse of the wall. Allowing say 300mm from wall to 1st pic and 300mm from last pic to wall .... with 500mm between each print. That might still be centred but I think it's not as classic or as tasteful as the first example. To me, the 1st row is cohesive and is a feature which allows the prints to shine separately, yet together as a group and identify as part of a collection. Whereas the second row, there is too much negative space between the images and for me, shows a disconnect - despite the relationship between the images in both photography, white mat boards and black frames etc ... But again, the display of artwork or photography is a personal choice and everyone's tastes are different. To each their own :) I'd love to know what you decide :) Nik

Hi Zaffa, can you arrange your frames in such a way where they are symmetrical at all? Happy to have a play with some mock up photoshop arrangements if you like? I'd just need to know the dimensions of each frame to be able to assist :) Sometimes I think when you have differing art sizes, arranging them as a group, but not in one line, can be more interesting and more visually appealing. Personally I think trying to hang them in a straight line when they are not the same size, may only highlight - not that it's an issue as such but something your eye will instinctively identify. Our eyes are good at searching out patterns or identifying things that aren't symmetrical etc. I think the option you have provided above, where the larger piece is centre and the two identical sized landscaped orientated frames are placed either side will work really well however. Again, paying attention to a well balanced amount of negative space between all 3, but not too far apart so that they remain connected. I would ensure that the two landscaped framed pieces are centred in height against your middle piece. Does that make sense?

Are you able to give me the dimensions of your framed pieces? I just want to have a play with some arrangements if you're happy for me too? I saw in one of your pics where you have the 3 framed prints - but there's another with 4? (Apologies if I've missed something Zaffa).

Hi Zaffa, Lots of good ideas. with having different size and style of frames I would consider using narrow strips of shelving so that you can arrange the frames to suit and add and rearrange whenever you felt like it.

It depends on how you space them zaffa, perhaps bigger ones on top and smaller on lower.

I agree that julies photo idea is beautiful but zaffa wants to use the frames she has. I actually don't think that a collection of family photos really suits the entrance to a home, they need to be in a more private position

It seems you have approx 6 frames in black, you could use the existing and add others to form a long display in the passage. Nik star made a great suggestion to use tape on the wall the size of the frames but I always use Newspaper taped together for furniture so you could do the same and use bluetack which would allow you to move then around on the wall.

3M make a great wall hanger "command" that hang different weight frames, no nails, no damage removes cleanly- no marks

zaffa take a deep breath and think about what has been suggested, you either need to do a few larger framed artworks or add to the frames that you already have, it's not enough as it is, sorry

I agree with Julie that this looks beautiful but without furniture it will be lost. Perhaps it would be best to hang the family photos in the staircase and wait to get something larger for the hallway.

The other option would be to paint that hallway wall and make it the feature
