You can have a toilet off a kitchen as long as there is mechanical ventilation to the sanitary compartment.

what are the external walls built out of and do you want to include a new kitchen?

Kitchen will be updated to new with an island. External walls are weatherboard.

Thinking losing external access is not a great idea. People will need to walk through laundry to get outside.

Only 700 and then the dryer and washing machine take up 1200mm and the sink another 600. That only leaves 600 to walk in. Too tight.

We could move the toilet next to the dryer and then put the door where the toilet is now.

@oklouise, that’s a great idea! However, we cant put a bench in front of the front window as the window goes almost to the ground. We could, however, put the sink in the island and then the stove where the sink is. What do you think of that? We could just have a door the opens inward rather than a sliding door which would give us more bench space.

that's much better and the extra island would allow for pantry storage in drawers and the extra bench space along the back could have a servery window to the deck?

okLousie, Next issue! Where that external door is, is our fuse box. Yes it’s so stupid that it’s out the back! Do you think we could just swap the door and the fridge?

anything is possible but all these issues need to be considered first not last..what was your original idea for the new kitchen?.. we need to know the exact location of the meter box, width and height of all the windows and doors and distance from each window or door to the corners of the room but i'm starting to wonder if the kitchen might be better swopped with the dining area but how does the dining room connect to the living area?

I have just done a rough floor plan and then notice your comment about having already used the bar as a WIR. I also thought that you mentioned having a 3m table when it was another houzzer.

Anyway my thoughts following, I have added a bath with an over bath shower to the family bathroom.

I have kept part of the wall between the kitchen dining to help cover any untidy cooking,

Remove the external door from the laundry replacing it with a window, adding a nib wall to WV.

The washer and dryer could be stacked next to it with laundry sink set into a cabinet from the washer to the wall to double as a hand basin for the WC.

Oklouise asked how the dining and living connected, ie; is it open with a hip height wall between both spaces?

All of these look great. Much food for thought. The dining and lounge are separated by banisters. Its quite an open layout.

We are worried about cost of moving a toilet. Does anyone have an estimate of what it would be? They house is on floorboards but the laundry is concrete.

Best way to find out about cost is to call in a local Plumber, I have positioned the WC to possibly be able to take advantage of the plumbing with the existing WC in the bathroom. You will save money in the kitchen by keeping the sink,cooker, window and sliding doors in their current positions
