Nursery layout suggestions
Hi
Was hoping to get some suggestions on the layout for our nursery. The room has a sliding door at the one end of the room and robes taking up the whole wall on the other end of the room, so I'm struggling to find the right place for everything. I've got some hanging shelves that I was going to mount above the changing station, so want to get the layout right before I drill any holes.

5 years agolast modified: 5 years agoHi Kirsty, I would swap the crib/cot with the chest of drawers and change table. This would then give you easy access to reach into the robe for clothing, etc. I would also not put any shelves directly above the change table. Just in case, in the future, little toddler fingers pull things down. You could put the shelves above the chest of drawers.
I would put the rocker in the center of sliding doors near the crib.

Comments (8)Yes, more information as to what you require in your home would help. But in the mean time...two options. Start by removing existing front door, make that into a fixed window. Install a new front door where existing window in the study is. This will give an actual entrance with storage instead of walking directly into lounge room. Or, second option, remove existing front door, make into a fixed window. Install new front door where study window is, and install a new wall directly in front of new front door. This will create a private entrance with storage, that does not see into any other rooms. Then the dining room will naturally become a bigger room by taking up some of the unused space. Comments (21)Keeping the above design, I would install a small sink in the corner of your prep space near the stove. It appears you don’t have enough storage at the moment. In real terms of extra cupboard space, would your new design as above, increase your storage. Also the fridges in your photo, will both be required.? 5 years agoThe only other option is to turn the cot on the same wall so that it's parallel to the wardrobe so
you can you can see baby from both sides, far more interesting for baby as well. And place the chair in the corner where the fixed glass panel is as weaver interiors suggested. Attaching a beautiful photo from Dulux of a totally disfunctional room just for display purposes
