Need help with Rug colours for formal lounge
Comments (3)Sounds like you have plenty of green so I'd start looking at something in the peach to coral range, as a complement to your greens. Or look at rugs that have both green and peach. Another direction would be a rug with greens and blues, shown in the third rug below. It's fast becoming my favorite of the trio. I'd throw in plenty of pale yellow pillows with it, just to lighten things up. Carolyn Albert-Kincl, ASID...See MoreWhich wall colours go with a terracotta roof?
Comments (8)It's a dilemma because you know your stuck with it for years once it's on. We recently painted our cedar exterior. Started by agreeing on a general colour and then buying a series of sample pots. We finally decided on dulux colour bond dune. Amazing in itself as we rarely agree haa. It was a nice mix between beige and grey. We bought the 10 litre tin and went to work. After completing one wall I thought the paint was taking a while to dry as it wasn't getting as dark as the sample. My husband thought it was because of the lighting. I took a piece of wood and painted the sample which we loved and the paint from the 10 litre can together and yes they were a different shade. The hardware store had accidentally mixed the sample pot in double strength. It was all fixed up and we really love the result. So it was Dulux Colourbond Dune. I think it would be perfect with your roof colour....See MoreHelp working with existing colours
Comments (2)Hi there, It is tricky giving advice on colour going on just one photo and without seeing the house, as ideally, it's good to consider all the colours in differing light conditions and times of day. However, as you are keeping the Pale Eucalyptus roof, I would recommend just sticking to 3 colours overall. I believe one can paint existing Colorbond and would suggest getting rid of the Classic Cream which is pretty dated. Render definitely can be repainted. Why not have a look at Surfmist for your render, gutters, downpipes, garage door and upright supports on carport and Shale Grey for the water tank and corrugated walling. I'm not too familiar with PVC windows, but if you go with "wood look", presumably that colour and finish will be on the inside as well, which you may or may not want when it comes to doing your interiors. I feel a natural anodised silver may look better and be simpler to work with. If you can't spring for a mid-to darker toned neutral coloured, natural, timber for bi-folds and windows I'd suggest sticking to aluminium. If your budget will allow for timber, but it needs to be a less expensive timber it can always be painted too, don't forget, giving you more options on the interior. If it has to be PVC, then I'd suggest sticking to an off-white option. I hope that helps!...See MorePlease help with living room rug, curtains, throws and cushion colours
Comments (71)Rachael, you’re very welcome! It was fun to draw up. As far as layering photos, I wasn’t suggesting you cover one photo with another, (what is the point of having beautiful photos and memories then! Lol) rather, overlap the edges of the frames (both are quite wide from your photos) so that they are connected without obscuring the images within. Hope that makes sense! What a difference just painting that back wall makes! It really opens up the room now. I think the few bricks around your fireplace now is a very charming feature. It keeps the charm of the original while bringing the rest of the room into a fresh new era! Well done! I would suggest running a long extension chord for your tv for now while you try out a new layout for the space if there are no powerpoints on the far wall, just to be sure you like the arrangement. Can’t wait to see updated images of your new space!...See Moregabrieleclark
