There's such a difference between having a home you love and having a home that suits "the market". I'm a huge fan of "home love". Loving your home and letting it be uniquely yours with the colours, style and things that are personal. If you're staying in your home for more than five years, I recommend let your home reflect your passions and personality and worry about re-sale if and when that comes.
