You'll be aiming for minimum 900mm+ either side of bedhead storage unit.

Choose towel rails for en-suite and make sure you have enough room to hang them. If there is a cavity slider it may be tricky to screw them solidly into wood, might need to swap vanity and bath and move doorway to left.

i would love to like have a hidden door to en-suite that is part of the wardrobe. A set of shelves built into to the door that is face up with the wardrobe.

How wide is the bed head area? Our last house we had similar, ours was 2.8m wide and it was tight with a king size bed, we had custom wall hung bedside tables built (they were small), for a king size bed I’d allow 3.2m just so you have a little space.

whats the distance behind the bed head to the wall? It looks about 1.2? Which should be very comfortable but may not be wide enough for shoe storage etc. it seems the room is at least 4m long which is plenty, maybe you could push the wall forward a little more (30-40cm) to make the space behind more usable.

If you’ve got a view then I’d be keeping the bed in that position if possible.

This is our old bedroom, in hindsight I wouldn’t have had the bulkhead to give us more space, the bedsides were not what I wanted (miscommunication with cabinet maker!) but we left them as is.

HU-107821062 - yes, hence it would be ideal to have the bed centered so we look out to the view. Thanks for sharing your photo.. I would re measure and make sure we really have enough space. I would like the bulkhead to double as shoe storage so the shoes are not in the WIR. We might have to decide on that later, if we can't allow more depth then we might have to think of another purpose. Although, I was also considering built in bedside tables/space and yes have the lights attached to the ceiling of some sort. Just want to confirm if someone has the same space and the dimensions we have is enough. BEcause for me, it looks a little small. But then, we don't really need a huge space for anything else. Perhaps an armchair or end of bed bench.

That's a really good point Kate made about thinking about towel rail placement. I've seen plenty of otherwise nice bathrooms where the towel rails were an afterthought and let the functionality of the room down. I also hate freestanding bathtubs squashed up against walls, if you don't have enough space for a freestanding bathtub to stand free it doesn't make much sense to have one. That is another advantage of oklouise's suggested plan which gives access from two sides for cleaning around it.
