I'd leave everything as it is aside from adding a robe to back onto WIR.

I know most wouldn’t need a bath, but our daughter plans to live in there to start with and we are expecting they will have a child while living there, so a bath was a requirement.

i know we can back into the WIR, was just looking for other options, as I felt 3x3 gave us a little space to play with.

Ive aLao played with changing the shower space to a wardrobe and vanity back to back and putting shower where vanity is, but that leaves toilet on inside wall.

if we have to leave as is, that’s fine, just looking for ideas.

For your daughter, if and when the children arrive I'am sure they will love bathing in Nannies bath. Whatever happened to the showers that had an acrylic base approx 12 inches deep that were used for bathing kids, I guess you could build up a brick tiled hob at the base of the shower to do the same thing.

Thanks for your ideas, I’m not really interested in options in place of a bath, just ideas to see if there are better layout options.

I’m pretty happy with the granny flat overall, and if necessary will just put the robe backing on to the WIR, and have the inside toilet.

You have plans for a beautiful large house , I don;t understand that you would consider moving from that into the very small granny flat, has your architect agreed with this plan.

If you feel a need to have a bath then it would be best to have a bath with a shower over it and not a free standing bath when space can be better used, ie: the kitchen is too big for this floor plan

. And in my opinion a granny flat doesn't have any use for a bath unless there's a hoist included

your new idea is not big enough to include a proper hallway or vanity or bathtub and the door into the toilet is not safe to swing inwards and the space is too narrow for a cavity slider

the simplest fix for he bathroom would be to add an opening window between the powder room and shower to share light and ventilation with the bathroom but, a bigger concern is that the bedrooms are too small and the kitchen too big for comfortable use for a family or a granny so my suggestions include some variations that also have plenty of space for extra storage, queen and twin beds, full sized doors and wider hallway and toilet

Just wondering if swapping bedroom 2 and the bathroom could work possibly giving the bathroom two external walls?. Good to see the kitchen reduced in Oklouise plan

we have played with making the kitchen smaller and adding the space into the bathroom/wardrobe for bed 2, we’ve also played with swapping living and kitchen.

At the moment I’m just looking at the best way to utilise the space, and determining what the priorities are.

Siriuskey in regards to your question about swapping bed 2/bath, the bedroom wall is attached to the main house, so although I have considered swapping them, it wouldnt provide us with an additional wall for toilet window.

We are off to see the designer on Friday, so will see what comes of that meeting.

Just a quick thought, have bath and shower parallel to each other with a glass screen and door across the end of both. Add a narrow vented or opening skylight into powder room and make shower into robe for 2nd bedroom. The powder room could also use the long narrow space to the outside wall and find another place for the robe as MD suggested. I wouldn't swap the kitchen over unless it was with the dining.

A few more suggestions, swap the kitchen and dining so you now have an open plan kitchen Family with a servery window to alfresco, the sliding door needs to go L to R

Powder room could be deeper with a narrow vanity with mirrored shaving cabinets above with external window

2nd bedroom takes a small slice from the master WIR.

I really like this latest option,

i think I’d prefer the lounge facing outwards to the view, but could do something like this, the dining is plenty big enough so we could use some of the space to enlarge bathroom a little, that would then give us a little more space for the wardrobe.

Siriuskey, What would be the minimun dimensions for a Japanese style bath if we turn the wet room 90 degrees and run bath under window, then shower in front? Would it fit using your latest plan?

I think it should fit, width of bath 800 plus 900 for shower approx, you would most likely end up with shorter vanity, I will draw it for you after I post my updated plan.

I have run the island to the wall to give you a better length island, the door could be louvered windows as well, full height like others 2400 and glass. No corner cupboards in thei kitchen!!
