The vintage green tiles in the first picture are lovely. The darker ones below with the bevelled edges are just so wrong in the setting shown. I am also a lover of green but you have to get the right tone and keep the shape as smooth and flat as possible. I am a big believer in having just one standout element of design in a tile - either its unusual in shape with a matt finish or a special colour with no fussy edges.

I'd suggest replacing your swing door with a sliding door recessed into the wall sliding to right. We did that with our tiny bathroom and it opens up all the wall and space restricted by the door for a vanity next to loo with niche recessed mirror fronted storage above the vanity. Go wall hung to keep floor clear for sense of space.

I made the mistake of getting wavy tiles for our ensuite - even though I was going to shop for something else :-) I got caught up in all the options! Being typical glazed tiles, we have never have any issues cleaning them - even with the texture. I just found that the texture dated them very quickly - more so then a similar flat tile.

Hi Shannon, I always use a flat trim in this instance. A boxed trim (ie. square section) will visually look bigger because it has 2 surfaces. The trim needs to be the correct size for the tiles - therefore if you have 10mm thick tiles, you must use a 10 x 10mm square trim. when selecting a flat trim consider which 'face' you want it to be installed on. I try to select a trim that matches the tiles as closely as possible for a more seamless appearance. Here are photos of a shower niche in an airline lounge I worked on recently using a flat trim.
