Paint it to match other walls or contrast colour as feature wall. Have painted some ugly brickwork around a fire place in my home using an acrylic gloss. The colour is full strength lexicon white, like the woodwork in my home, the walls are satin finish half strength lexicon white. I am really pleased with the subtle feature of the glossy painted brick wall.

What an amazing house, almost looks like a church inteiror and you are blessed with incredible amazing space,use it! No pun intended. Architecturally this has so much potential, however to reign in the era a litel I would unify it in colour or material. I suggest rendering our the bottom walls up to that solid plaster line around the entire space, and keep it 'white', whichever shade you use. I would then play up that ceiling, and line the top portion of walls in a vertical lining board cladding sheet, which is easily adhered right onto face brick. Again, I would paint it white, with tones and texture creating interest rather than introducing a busy colour palette. Furniture can do this in your own, flexible Tatar without overpowering the interior. The light fixture is fantastic, and suits this space well, use other structural elements perhaps vertical sculpture or mirrors, art ect on the gallery like walls to make it feel more residential and less of a chapel. The marble floors are expensive, and therefore I'd work with them, they have been at some time a real investment, so consider the colour palate and tile geometry in your scheme such as rugs or upholstery.

Well, the yard is full of cacti and succulents... And it's new. The only things with flowers now are the euphorbia milii, so no especial attractant. Being a newish build (just less than 12 months since we moved in) there are many more established and flowery gardens within stone's throw. I really would hope there's nothing attractive on the bricks - it can't be the colour, as the garden walls are entirely different to the house, and built at a different time, (recently). There are other houses around with these bricks, but no sleeping bees! Lol. I hope the fairies at the bottom of the garden didn't spray sugar spray on the walls! I have no desire to plant large trees on my suburban block. I've put in a pomegranate which is still a small sapling, about a 60cm stick with no flowers. I've put in a Yucca, but it hasn't even a stem, yet, let alone flowers. That's why I'm stumped. The street trees are ornamental pear, however none are in flower, and we don't even have ours yet. A few blocks away they have the dreaded plane trees - beautiful, but deadly for my allergies. There are a few reserves, so I wish the trees would hurry and get big there so the birds have somewhere. They love builder's left over lunches, but there's not much shelter here. I'll try the thyme, but they like those flowers, too. I dunno! (Throws hands in air...) Wondering now, if it's because the bricks are heavily textured and they can grip well?

Hi Do you need four bedrooms? If not, turn main bedroom into a kids room. Turn the lounge into main bedroom with en-suite, knock down the wall between the kitchen and the bedroom at the back of the house and then create one big open plan kitchen living dining across the back of the house. I envisage you would need to knock out the back wall of the house and add some square footage to get the space you would desire. You could also build a patio across the back with stacking sliding doors to create a beautiful indoor/outdoor living space that overlooks the pool. Good luck!!
