I love painted brick. We have two walls of it in our sunroom addition (used to be the exterior of the house) and it looks great. So I'd definitely try painting it first and see if you like it. You can always drywall over it if you don't. But you aren't limited to white, you know, if you want a different color. Ivory, putty, taupe can all look great on a brick wall.

When we see green water, we humans tend to think of algae or mould - it's hard to change that way of thinking. A pale , sandy pebblecrete will look like a sandy lagoon, whereas a blue will be more eye-catching. We replaced the second liner of our pool with blue tiles . It's quite a large pool, so we went for a dark blue, I still love the colour nearly ten years later.

There are different solutions to chose. Im a bit mad so I would do all the paint work black, and make all that blue disappear with Dulux Terrible Billy. Fantastic colour. Paint the front door a colour that picks up the tiles. Don't paint your brickwork... the tones of the roof and brick work would soften the black and look stunning. Then redo front garden ...greenery looks fantastic against black. AND take a photo/photos of your house , print on a4 paper and colour in the areas to paint and see what it looks like. Otherwise paint all the blue in a strong or soft green to match the garden.
