Need help on making open plan kitchen living room
Comments (14)I find it difficult to view your floor plan as it blurs if I enlarge it, so excuse me if this comment is invalid. Assuming the entry is from your living room and the home runs lengthways with the hall linking the bathroom, ldry and bedroom from the kitchen. The issue with this is that having two doors in the kitchen means you cannot form a working triangle for it to function well and don't have enough wall to fit out with tall storage. However, if you sealed up the door to the hall and opened access to the hall from the lounge as your plans seems to indicate in the top right of the lounge area, then you could widen the front opening into the kitchen rather than remove an entire wall, so integrate it into your living zone without lumping a kitchen in the middle of your lounge, you will improve your walk through flow, and gain a new length of wall in the kitchen where your fridge could go into the corner with a larger pantry flanking it, then your proposed layout t follow....See MoreFeature Wall with TV
Comments (5)hmmm.. gorgeous tiles, but would have to agree with the others, may be distracting, and they seem somewhat reflective as well. Also, may be a pain to dust.. and if your TV is in the same room as the kitchen (open plan) may find that grease settles on them over time making them even more painful to clean. Lots of other beautiful and practical options on the market though. Maybe if you post a photo of the room, may be able to provide more targeted advice. Cheers K...See MoreFeature wall with a doorway
Comments (2)If I understand you correctly, the sliding doors are 'part' of the feature wall, which is to be painted navy. Therefore, the door and all of its parts should also be painted navy so that it blends into the remainder of the feature wall. Is that essentially what you are asking? If so, then bigreader and I concur: navy it is! It sounds beautiful...I hope you will post pics when it's complete...I would love to see it....See MoreHow do I create an open-plan living-dining area and entertainers deck?
Comments (11)Depending on your budget and how much structural work you want to have done, you could keep most of it the same. But you would loose your meals room. extend your laundry to the door of the meals room, turn your laundry side ways this will give you access to the out side, on the other side of the laundry extend your wall pass the internal door of the meals room to create a walk in pantry, extend kitchen gallery to laundry and pantry, open up internal walls of kitchen to living room and dinning room creating a beautiful Island bench looking into living room. open up external dining room wall for sliding doors to bring the inside out. because there is a walk in pantry there would be no need for upper counters so u could also have a bar at the kitchen window on the outside. Doing it this way you would save a lot of money not having to move plumbing and electrical in the kitchen. You would have to walk through your kitchen to get to laundry though....See MoreWestplan Design
