Tossing around ideas for main bathroom reno.
Comments (6)Thanks for your feedback ... I love the idea of the grey grout but worry it would make too much of a feature of the subway tile ... Would prefer to use towels & pictures to feature ... But will give it some thought ... I find it interesting about the negativity of the subway tile when it seems to be featuring in all the current home mags ( not the architectural ones which seem to focus on concrete, timber & stone)...See MoreStuck for ideas in weird layout bathroom
Comments (18)Thanks so much to everyone, I really appreciate your help. It is finally done. It looks great and we had a few little hiccups. It took about 4 weeks longer than they said; Vanity Caesarstone top was nothing like the sample so that was replaced; Stegbar sliding shower screen glass door didn't have holes drilled so that was delayed a week and mix up in communication added another 2 days; when carpenter removed tiles etc as prep, a lot of junk went down the drain so it overflowed (lesson there for him to cover drains). The tiler I insisted on using did a great job but hard to get the communication going between the facilitator, the water proofer and the tiler. I got the lights from Temple and Webster (12 volt), I just need to get a different lamp to match the others (2 are bright white and 1 is warm). I am very happy with the finished product - see attached panorama shot (I just need to put up the white wooden blinds). Thanks again....See MoreHelp needed with main bathroom reconfiguration
Comments (8)the problem with rearranging the fixtures is that none of the alternatives leaves enough walking space except the last, which is the same as what you have already first try an automatic door closer and consider a custom vanity with a small drop in sink in a counter that has a narrow section that continues across the top of the toilet and a wall mirror or mirrored medicine cabinet the maximum width of available wall under the windows...widening the counter will be useful and the mirrors and gorgeous new tiles, bath and vanity will help to distract from the view of the toilet...See MoreBigger main bathroom, or smaller w/ a separate powder room...?
Comments (13)No en-suite - not enough room unfortunately! V1 here is additional powder room and V2 is no 2nd loo, just bigger bathroom by removing a wall & fireplace (which I believe is an expensive & challenging task as would need to keep the chimney stack on the outside (it's in a heritage area so limited on what we can do)). Thanks so much!...See Moreshirleypeters0
