Advice for master bedroom plan
Need some advice with this master bedroom layout, we have planned for the door to be in the middle of the wall for the en-suite and wanted to have our built ins against the same wall to also create that “hidden en-suite” look. However we have this big window on the left hand side of this wall, which doesn’t allow the built in robe to sit nicely with it. Any advice on the floor plan or layout? Is having a corner built in robe a bad idea?

Comments (10)Thanks guys. Bed 1 is South and Bed 2 is north. Or in your drawing oklouise bedroom 2 is south. This plan is a two story extension that is new and will basically be our house (parent living in the older part). My partner is obsessed with having room to get furniture in easily (constant apartment move ptsd) thats why the larger stairway entry. The permit is approved and we are about to build next week so not sure about changing windows about at this late stage as it’s been a hellish exercise getting to this point! HU-107821062 - yes, hence it would be ideal to have the bed centered so we look out to the view. Thanks for sharing your photo.. I would re measure and make sure we really have enough space. I would like the bulkhead to double as shoe storage so the shoes are not in the WIR. We might have to decide on that later, if we can't allow more depth then we might have to think of another purpose. Although, I was also considering built in bedside tables/space and yes have the lights attached to the ceiling of some sort. Just want to confirm if someone has the same space and the dimensions we have is enough. BEcause for me, it looks a little small. But then, we don't really need a huge space for anything else. Comments (14)Hi Tony, I'll try again here 'cause I think we can still do better: Like plan above but db vanity where shower is (may need to be a bit longer) loo and shower on external wall both with windows. then 2 runs of full height robes: one allowing enough space for door where your yellow line is. the other on external wall along from loo and shower. down centre a run of drawers: maybe wide enough for drawers both sides but bench height for a put down area, open and like a mansions robe room!! With bathroom not extremely long the robes can be what ever length you need but I am sure you will win a bit more space in you lux bedroom! So you step into the room with robe, drawers and robe, bed beyond and round to the right is the bathroom tucked away! I think that would be lovely, spacious and luxurious. Hope it works. Comments (5)my suggestion has an ens and wiw and uses the old bedroom door for a linen cupboard, although the toilet could be placed at either end to be closer to the original sewerage, this arrangement allows for more privacy for the toilet, more standing room near the shower, wall space for a towel rail and room in teh wiw for a chest of drawers..the vanity is over 2m long with cabinet under the (one or twin) sinks and open shelves next to the toilet for towels .. and, while you're adding the new ens, it would be worthwhile to plan the new access to the kitchen and new laundry...See More

4 years agohello , I look at your layout, in fact, everything is quite pragmatic and functional, there is an awkward angle but it is not bad
if you want you can consider the idea of reducing bath, create a symmetrical anglethe fact is that for double doors a distance is desirable
but in general, everything is good.
