I think a feature wall would be fantastic. Given the height of the ceilings - I think the color would look fantastic!

Sounds like your daughter's already got some interior designer instincts ;) Loving the black feature wall, and you don't want to take anything away from such a strong statement, so I think you should go with white... or at least a very light grey, e.g. Dulux Lexicon quarter (on the left)...

Spartan Lady It is a lovely piece - is it a mirror? The proportions of the wall & existing feature are important - the photos you posted don't give a wide enough shot to be able to make a sensible contribution!! However..... Is it possible to hang the piece on both hooks, thus eliminating the need for anything else!! Instead of centring the piece over 1 hook, move the piece slightly to the left & allow both hooks to support the mirror/ art piece Will you be placing any furniture near the mirror? That is going to make a tremendous difference as it will take some of the attention from the mirror Perhaps a chair in the corner or a console with appropriate styling Let us know what you decide

Just me -- that's a No ! As it is shown there , its too much , too tacky . On an island , if it was maybe the 'front' it could be okay , or something like a built-in cutting board might look cool ( as it is presumably a manufactured stone , I have no idea how it would be practical-wise ? ) . That whole kitchen doesn't inspire me much -- its too mixed up IMO . Mostly black and white , but with stainless , some timber which is the wrong tone , again IMO -- not consistent .
