Art work question
Comments (11)I think some shelving would look wonderful, keep the styling quite simple so that your eye doesn't get pulled away from the TV when you are trying to relax. A couple of floor plants either side of your entertainment unit would keep the electronics company and finish off the look quite nicely....See MoreWhere should we hang art in our lounge room?
Comments (12)Hi Kerry, The framed artwork are great pieces and will look lovely on this wall. As your furniture is off to one side rather than centred to the wall, you’ll be needing to place your artwork centre to the sofa against the wall. In my line of work, I favour hanging artwork with their centre most points at eye level so as I walk into a room I see the art and can read the room with all its décor in a cohesive manner. From your images provided I would suggest hanging each piece at the very least 200mm apart, their centre-most point at 1500-1600mm and ensuring you have a space between the top most point of your sofa and the bottom of your artwork. The key is to not hang your art too high and close to the ceiling, as this can make your room look askew, or hand them too low and make your room look squished. Introducing a tall plant in the area around your armchair and side table will help balance the large wall or you could always hang a mirror or another piece of art of a large scale to your 3 prints. Comments (11)oh that art over lounge is old & need to replace bc sick of looking at it. also can’t change placement of the clock as there is a bracket & dont want to patch & paint the wall. The other wall in dining room will only reflect another wall so not sure but im going to buy them first and play around with them as I’m a visual person. also what colour would you recommend I go? ideally I would love to change my curtainS but can’t afford to do so. & my rug but I have an old fur baby who at times has accidents so going to wait on that for now. Was thinking of painting my antique tv unit & table white; what do you think?? Btw... chairs are brown not black....See MoreDoes this art work suit this wall/area?
Comments (11)Hi Carol , I hate the artwork but wonder if the colouring is way too little for the space haha ? Everything in your place is grey , beige , off-grey , off-beige , off-blue , and charcoal . So to add some excitement you get some art in grey , beige , off-grey , off-beige , off-blue and charcoal ! Three months ago I bought an original abstract picture about 1.2metres square -- a yacht under sail in heavy seas . Except it was all in brightish colours , the texture is literally knifed on . But straight away , your eyes are drawn to it , and you know exactly what it is . We know sails aren't really orange and yellow and apricot and butter -- but it portrays the fury ! The sails are actually heavy paper , screwed up , flattened , painted and glued to the canvas -- it is 3 dimensional ! I'm actually not a sailing person , but at $800 I grabbed it , and glad I did . It may not be your choice , but imagine just from my description , what something like that would add to your place . A large flower or fruitbowl if you want to be safe , a 'quality' landscape , or something that is a talking point if you are as mad as me . . . . . . . . . . and you can change it in 6 months or 6 years ....See MoreWeaver Interiors
