Advice on a 70s style bathroom
Comments (21)So if I suggested the following could you tell me if this is going to look right. Floor tiles = keep Wall tiles = paint or replace to white? Cedar walls = keep , sand and re oil Cedar beams above shower and bath = ? Vanity = replace to a white unit with a stone/ granite top in a light colour ? Splash back behind vanity = glass white or blue tiles? Mirror = replace with a much larger one , possibly even one stretching the whole width of the wall Shower curtains = not sure ? Would it be better to have frameless glass with translucent glass between shower and bathtub? Bathtub and shower tub = paint white ? Lighting= lots of LED spots Towel rails etc = new Chrome/SS Thank you for any suggestions...See MoreNeed help with 'natural' pebble ceilings in 70s house
Comments (12)Hi Wendy, I've had a similar dilemma from a client in Sydney and we plastered the ceiling up (similar to Dohraime's images) and it was a real transformation. You could box in around your skylights too so you don't lose that lovely light. If this is all to expensive then paint the pebbles (spraying might be the best to get coverage) and the beams the same colour so that neither attract any attention but rather they act as a neutral backdrop for the room. Good luck, this is a bit of a challenge. Cheers, Michelle...See MoreReplacing a tired old 70's home into an Entertainers home

Comments (25)To bring rhythm and flow with the house I would continue to use the monument on the garage door to bring connection of the deck with the house. Use the same for the baton on the deck. If doing the roof look to a similar colour as monument or in fact the same. Perhaps look at Half or Quarter monument for the concrete steps up to the front door. Paint your front door a colour to draw the eye..perhaps a dark, mid blue. The guttering looks in good condition but I would paint that the same as the roof including the downpipes. Go for a standard white under the eaves. I feel like you need something to the left of the garage to balance things out for street appeal. Greenery planted to hide the gap up to bottom of deck but planted towards the street to allow a meter gap to walk through from left of garage....See Moreme me
