I was thinking like oklouise but flipping her layout so vanity is next to door and you don’t need to move door.

Will it cost more to move the plumbing work for toilet or the vanity/shower?

Anyway I can reconfigure the WIR to make it bigger or add some for a study nook?

Plumbing cost should probably be a secondary concern considering the amount to be spent on a bathroom renovation. Get the layout right first then get it costed. Many people have spent up big on flashy tiles but stayed with a poor layout.....

People say plumbing is expensive but it is labour intensive and rarely simple or straightforward hence it takes hours. Re-working plumbing gets difficult when you're on a slab as you may need to cut the slab and jackhammer to fit new pipework with the required falls.

How about this?

Your bathroom is on the second storey. If you have a concrete slab then this may dictate that you do keep plumbing where it is.
Ok Louise design is meeting your brief with minimal redirection of plumbing.

Thanks for the advises. I’m thinking of below, that do you think? I alter the WIR, with balanced left + right. By doing so I will have room to enclose the toilet with sliding door and pretty much keep all existing plumbing work. I might put a comfy bench under the window and plants near the bath.

I was thinking along the lines of Danny Jin. The plumbing could stay in the same place which would keep down that cost - letting you spend more on the fittings.

subject to correct dimensions your bathroom would be like this plan but keeping the plumbing in the same location isn't always the best choice as this arrangement keeps the shower smaller and the potentially wet floor right where you would need to walk in and out of the ensuite and wiw and location of the doors into the shower and toilet and towel rails needs to be planned for doors to be wide enough and i would expect that moving the shower to the bath location or the vanities to the shower location would not be extra expensive but the toilet would be better kept close to the original location but rotated along the wall shouldn't add to costs

Interesting ideas here!! It can be done with out changing the WIR or changing cavity slider. As you enter bathroom on the left have double vanity then a separate room and window for toilet which is then on outside wall, but have door on side of room, facing opposite wall. Then bath along under window and shower can be large and where it is. This way you look into vanity, toilet is private with no view of it except from in bathroom and it has vent. bath is feature under window and shower can be huge! Way to go!!

you may need to remind everyone that this ensuite is upstairs over the dining room and probably better to keep the toilet close to original location although one option to rearrange plumbing can be to install a dropped ceiling downstairs to conceal new pipes or have them directed outside and down external walls instead of inside the building but all depends on how the plumbing is already arranged

Thank you and I really like your design. The layout looks great and I can visualize it will be an amazing bathroom once all done. But I refer not to have a BIR in the main bedroom area. We should have enough space in the WIR if we design smartly, maybe do a U shape with drawers under the mirrors etc. I can see you added 2 external windows. How much roughly would it cost to do so? Do I need a permit to add windows!

You don't have add windows but you could consider it, you need to discuss costs & permits with who ever does the work on the house. I think you will still get plenty of light coming through from the bathroom window into the study area plus the window to the right in the bedroom. The robe in the bedroom isn't necessary but possible if needed. The idea of laying the bathroom out his way is that even if you leave the bathroom door open you won't be looking at any fittings.

Mud Maps are great! This is the idea I had for your en suite. entering thru the WIR adds a visual and audio buffer, but it is still lovely if the loo is not the first thing you see! Vanity as deep as possible allows plenty of storage space, the shower can be any size with or without glass screen, the free standing bath will be a feature too. I believe the toilet plumbing is not an issue as it will be following where it is now and to make it in its own room would be excellent but please add a window. OR swap it to the other corner and rejig a separate window. Then the bath beside the vanity will be more of a feature. Good luck with it all: love to see finished room. Cheers Margot

As per siruskeys layout design we have done something similar on one of our projects.

Shower on one side and toilet on the other. The floor looks wonky because I tried to photoshop the rubbish off the floor. Otherwise our floor plan is exactly as per the plans minus the window. The natural lighting is via a skylight and thin windows running along the top in the toilet and shower area.
