Garage conversion - Any Ideas to hide garage door?
Comments (17)Hi. We were just discussing same option on the weekend. Our solution was......make up a timber frame to cover door ( like a false free standing wall) insulate with batts to reduce heat/ cold/ noise if required and then just gyprock over. You could actually do two false walls so if at a later date you wish to remove just half for whatever reason, it would be easier. These walls could even be on sold at a later date as there is def a demand for similar fit out. For the single door, you could always put cupboards under and then build them in by creating a false bulkhead to hide the roll or move one of the cupboards and construct a built in media cabinet with bulkhead once again to hide the roll. Hope this helps. ☑️...See Morehow to clean merbau deck above a garage before oiling?

Comments (14)can you post the original plans with dimensions of all rooms and location of all doors and windows and distance from outside walls to fences, do you have an alternate garage or carport, is there an outdoor area off the kitchen laundry? what are the floors and walls made out of and is the garage floor at the same level as inside the house?..i'm wondering if the garage could be the new master suite and the bedroom could be the new living area and keep the original living and kitchen for the new kitchen and dining BUT i suggest that the most cost effective option would be to use the two smaller bedrooms as master and separate dressing room with the main bathroom, use bed 1 for a new lounge and convert the garage to the guest room study as i doubt the budget would be enough for an extra bathroom and other variations but might be enough to convert the garage and refresh the kitchen and new living areas...See MoreHelp pls: Should I convert my existing patio into an internal space?
Comments (17)I’d start by position couch with its back to hallway and solid wall. Then see how the floor space works for you. Long lounge rooms are hard. But this should give more flexibility for a larger crowd using some flexible furniture. Maybe piano and bar/buffet along the new side wall with just a highline window...See Moresophie621
