Well, I guess you first need to think what you really want to use the space for. Will it be your main TV viewing area? (If so, I'd cosy it up with a big rug first). It's a shame to use it as a TV area though, since that means blocking off the sliding doors with furniture. I'm guessing at the moment you don't need as a little kids play area or teenagers homework area - but how about a home office, or even gym/workout area? Or, given, the sliding doors and tiles, how about a conservatory? An indoor herb garden, with some orchids, ferns and maybe even a small palm? Do you have a craft or hobby that could use a dedicated area? I'm thinking artistic types would love to turn the space into a mini studio - or I could let the person with whom I share my life play with his car parts there . . . (tiles! easy to clean up!) Of course, whichever option you choose for the space, I'd keep the cat climbing frame and snuggle-pod!

you can't beat white, it goes with everything, clean and crisp looking, my choice would be fridge top and freezer bottom, better still two separate side by side, if there's room, keep a thermometer in both to check on temp, as the ones in the appliance are usually not accurate,, and check the lights, mine are always flickering on and off when i open the door, buy one with wheels so that you can pull it out to clean

Hi laura_85 Your room looks lovely and the architecture looks classic 60,70s with high vaulted ceilings. You could furnish with a retro vibe with mid century modern inspired bedsides (see below) and I would recommend a contrast to the timber with an upholstered bedhead. Keep the furniture and bedhead shapes in a streamlined design to be more modern. A bed base on legs will keep an open feel to the room. An accent chair is also a great addition to the space- the butterfly chair suggested would be great. Add plenty of textures (bedding, cushions, throws) in neutral tones to soften the room. A couple of small prints above the bed will finish off the look. Consider the window furnishings as well in your selections. These triangular windows are tricky and limit your choices. Best wishes

The issue is not so much the cladding material, but rather the articulation of the extended building form. This could be a simultaneously exciting, interesting and sympathetic extension utilising shingle cladding that wouldn't necessarily reference Hampton's. If there's anything too Hamptons going on here it's the small proportioned windows with the external shutters that give it a bit of a "dollhouse"popped on the top look. You've got a stunning beautiful home frontage, but the extension form is kind of sticking out/up the back and the fenestration looks out of balance by being perfectly symmetrical. Federation architecture is not symmetrical like the Victorian era predecessors, rather it is an asymmetric compositional balance that in your case should be recognised and countered appropriately with the design of the extension. When selecting appropriate extended cladding material it should be working towards texturally balancing the building and being complimentary overall. Professional recommendation you revisit the articulation of the upper extension, at the very least loosening up the fenestration with more glazing and potentially a more complex roof form with a smaller projecting gable (offset) as a reference to the frontage. The cladding choice becomes less critical, and shingle texture that ties in the roofing texture could work well.
