Your Preference: Light and Bright or Dark and Swarthy?
Comments (12)Prefer dark, though not this 'trendy' grey of the moment...dark brown thanks...a little more timeless. Not fake wood grain though. If you want wood, use wood; not laminate wood grain. We're going with a good quality dark brown laminate. Then mixing it with warm off white wall/ceiling, smoky chandelier (and aptly positioned down lights) and deep caramel-toned carpet underfoot. Our aim is for a really comforting room to get dressed in each morning...for both genders. Grey just doesn't have that same warmth. And don't know about you, but white is way too bright & glary in the early morning. However, do take on your point about dust 'helendyjak'...hadn't thought of that....See MoreDark or light mortar
Comments (5)Similar to mine. I have black brick, dark mortar, monument frames and render is duck egg. Very happy I chose dark render but the salt does come out of the render making it look white in patches. It’s not really a problem, just hoses off and will eventually stop. No one notices it and I would still choose the dark render if I had known....See MoreDoes anyone have a dark colour bond fence out the front with a light r
Comments (1)Our favourite combination we used on our house was woodland grey and monument. Hope that helps! We also did test patches of basalt, that will look great as well....See MoreDark or light kitchen cupboards?
Comments (0)Hey guys! We're building a one storey house and need advice with the colour theme for our kitchen cupboards. We love the black laminex non-fingerprint idea for the cupboards but not sure if there will be enough natural light coming through. Our kitchen is central in our open plan house, with living and alfresco towards the back (facing north). The kitchen faces north-east towards a separate outdoor room/mini alfresco with stacker doors. We are undecided whether the darker theme would work, especially if the house being built next to us is double storey. Does anyone have a dark kitchen which faces north-east? Thanks!...See Moreme me
